He showed his opinion, and although resorting to crude insults wasn’t the best course of action, we have all at one point or another done it, on this forum, or on a different forum, or most likely in real life, and this one isolated attempt shouldn’t be enough to merit a ban. Koko shouldn’t have been banned as well, even temporarily, seeing as he didn’t do anything particularly wrong at all that other’s have done, including myself, and got away with.

Simon's going Gandhi on our asses. Personally I don't think ComNums could have been banned for the stuff he said to me because it was pretty funny and wasn't ban-worthy for sure. So what really caused this to happen?

It is also unnecesary drama, since you, Simon, have no idea what the man said in private correspondence with us, and you will not know this since it is... well, private (note, btw, that not respecting this aspect of private correspondence by Koko was among the things that got the whole thing started).

Both Koko and ComNum were banned for ignoring moderators telling them to stop a certain behaviour and doing so in quite an arrogant manner. I don't recall anybody else (apart from members of the teenage Norwegian boys invasion - and they got banned as well) ever doing so.

ComNum went a little farther with that and is therefore permanently banned. You're putting up quite a show, Simon, but I'm afraid it's a little misplaced. Also, I'm sure Blaster, me, or Bernie would have been happy to explain ourselves if you'd taken the effort of PM-ing us before going all j'accuse in public.

Finally, I think Bernie has the right to decide who is and who is not welcome on his forum.

Simon, I admire your sticking up for a comrade - you must be a good friend to have. But Munan said it all. I liked ComNum too, originally, but if you knew all the facts, you would've made the same decision I did.

And sorry, gotta move this to Utter B.S. (not to belittle your complaint, Simon, but it doesn't belong in the main forum, you understand)

Yes we are. Extremely. It was because of these kind of things that I opposed the idea of moderators when Simon first suggested it (read about it here). But it's unavoidable, maybe, sometimes, even in a fun forum like this one.

Also, I really hope Simon decides to come back.

Okay, I spoke wtih Munan earlier today and he explained that I wasn't aware of all the facts, i.e. that Comnum was an Ass-Be to Bernie, and so the ban was called for. Although I wish Comnum wasn't barred out, it wasn't an unjust execution and therefore my argument is invalid. I was rash, jumping to the conclusions and going over dramatic, and yes, Bernie is right saying that I would have made the same decision in his shoes.

So I hope we have all that sortened out. Munan, Bernie, if one of you could lock this thread...
