Screw Halo.
Far Cry is a true snipers game, after actual sniping games.
You, and your AWP 50, on a tropical island, surrounded be mercs and mutants. You get to nail them from up to one and a half kilometers. _________________

It's not just Halo. I like sniping in any game. Like Silent Scope, which is all about the sniping. That game was fun. Far Cry is good too. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Speaking of sniping...
Why didn't the sniper guy in Saving Private Ryan fire down the barrel of the tank instead of letting it just blow him away? Wouldn't that have detonated the round, brewed up the tank, and saved his life? It's not like the shot would have been difficult for him. _________________

Well that would depend on what kind of shell was in the barrel... In WW2 there were mostly two kinds of tank round used: explosive (Anti-infantry) and armor pierceing.
Explosive round are mostly a thin metal shell with a whole lot of explosive in it, if such a shell would have been in the barrel the idea might have worked.
The other one is made of a big block of metal followed by some explosive, witch is meant to pierce the armor of a tank the explode inside, usualy it just passed through the tank. If the tank had one such round loaded then he would have had better luck trying to destroy the tank by shooting through it's frontal armor.
Also there is the problem of the shape of the shell, I presume you know that the best way to place armor is at an angle witch has the result of giveing considerable better protection then if layed flat. The same principle can be applied to a round's shell, ergo even if the tank had a explosive shell loaded, the trick might not have worked...
Rant over... _________________

Oh come on. You're in a fucking war, and all of a sudden you see a barrel of a Tiger Tank pointing at you. Would you be able to take the shot under those circumstances? And don't say that he can do it because he also shot the German sniper through his scope. At that time he was concentrated on taking out that sniper. Plus, the sniper wasn't already targeting him. _________________

Aramor, if a tank can shot its main gun down the barrel of anothe tank then so can a sniper, a shot like then is perfectly possible... _________________

A German tank ace did that on the Estern Front during the battle of Kursk, he was commanding a Tiger. _________________

I know what you are saying Aramor, but being a sniper requires ice water in the veins. Yeah, maybe he would just crap in his pants, but I didn't get that feeling from his response.
Of course, I have never been shot at, or even had a gun pointed at me, so I have no basis for a personal opinion.
Telveryon, thanks for the information. I had just assumed, based on the explosion, that the round had to have been an explosive round, but now I understand that is not necessarily the case.
And the story of a tank round going down the barrel of another tank is just amazing!
Crow, you avatar is very very nice.
Almost too nice for the crowd assemble here. _________________

If I recall correctly, what he did when he saw that barrel looking at him, he just shouted at the other guy to take cover and then we saw the tank shooting. Ah well, there's no point bickering over this... I actually kinda forgot the point I was gonna make with this awesome post.
Anyhoo... uhm... Pink Floyd!!! _________________

Usually, pointless bickering things are the best things to bicker over. If only you hadn't distracted me with Andy Griffith, the bickerfest would be all up ons. _________________

I had a discussion with a real good friend of mine about religion vs evolution theory. Anyhoo, it went like this:
Him: I just find it very hard to believe that a single celled organism became... like an elephant for example.
Me: Well, I find it just as hard to believe that the world was created as it says in the Genesis.
Him: Well then... discussion over?
Me: Sure. _________________
