The Italy-USA game was absolutely greusome. An elbow in the face, two pairs of spikes in Italy's ankles, 11 off-sides by Italy, two goals that were discounted, an own-goal, and a total of three red cards. _________________

God, Australia-Brasil was sad. The Aussies held out remarkably well, but the Brazilians are really good in tiring out their opponents and then with a few swift kicks ko them. They did it to the Netherlands in 94 (or was it 90?) and they did it to the Australians now. I think it is a matter of quality as well. Australia had two kick-ass chances that could have turned matters for them, and if only they'd had a little more stamina (but they already have a remarkable amount of it), they could have made it a draw. For a worldchampion, Brazil performed below standards.
I can't believe I missed Italy-USA. For some reason, I thought it wouldn't be worth watching... _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

France must be the saddest team in the Cup. undisputed all-weight champions a few years ago, and now what? tragedy... _________________ i have no time for anal love

Spain won against Tunisia.
It was hialrioust o see the Tunisian's faces, they were all happy and gay for an hour and Spain finally breaks through with 3 goals.
The only guys more disappoitned I've seen this world cup were the Swedes after they tied agaisnt Trinidad and Tobago. _________________

Yes, tonight's the night for the Swedes. They MUST win against England. Well, they haven't lost a match against the English since 1968...
I was shocked by Spain-Tunisia. How can you give the match away like that?
Like Australia-Brazil, there was the difference in quality. Both Brazil and Spain performed bad, but in the end, Australia and Tunisia lacked the quality to stuff it up their arse...
Is it me, or is this championship getting more and more normal after some bizarre beginnings? Too bad... _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Well, they didn't. I saw Sweden-England today and it was, once again, a bizarre match.
- The first half the swedes were again ridiculously weak, and therefore, England scored. 1-0 for England (the most beautiful goal so far in the contest, methinks, by Cole: pure art!!)
- The second half they had their first strong moment in this contest and counterscored. 1-1
- Then they fell asleep and England scored again towards the end - 2-1 for England. The weirdes goal in the contes so far: this must be the first time in my life I saw two players kick the bal simultaneously and score...
- The swedes reacted like a man told his house was on fire and fucking did it again: scoring in the last minute of regular playing time. End-score: 2-2?!?!?! _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Yay for Australia!
Rommel, i envy you, you got a hell of a team.
and it's a shame they have to play against Italy in the next round, because my loyalty always lies with the Azzuri, but Aussies are one of my favourite teams now nonetheless. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Yes, Australia-Croatia was a hell of a match - but in the end it got completely bizarre. That refugee was a complete idiot, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
But, you know, the Australian coach (the Dutchman Guus Hiddink) won against Italy once before, with South Korea. So don't think they don't stand a chance! _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

i fancy France to do very well , i know everyone will disagreee due to the form in the group stage , but then again , the group stages are about squeezing through thats all , sorta like a game of poker , you dont want to show all your hand straight away , france will keep some in reserve
Its a bit like Juventus in the champions league , in the group stage they play six and win six , but do the win the competition ?, hell no , because there burnt out before the knockout rounds , what would you rather win the group or the cup ? _________________

interesting theory. however, they didn't look to me like they were deliberately keeping low profile, they rather looked like they didn't really have many good arguments. well, they're in for Spain now, and Spain were never a good tournament team, so it's either way, i guess.
how's about Switzerland finishing top of the group? freakin surprise!

true, but unfortunately the Korea-friendly referee played a large part in this one.
which is not to undermine Hiddink's reputation, he is a tremendous coach. we need someone like him in Poland. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Well, the referee who whistled Portugal-Holland will be a refugee soon.
What.a.fucking.asshole
Historical game in world cup history: never before, four red cards were drawn in one game...
I can't believe it: in one weekend, both Sweden and Holland are out... _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

I hate to be rooting for Brazil. It's like rooting for the Yankees in baseball (sorry Bernie). But somehow Ronaldinho has captured my, I dunno, imagination. So that is who I am pulling for at this point.
Once again, I reach that crucial decision: When the championship is to be decided, do I plug in a TV and try to get the broadcast? (prolly not =D) _________________
