As soon as I get home (I'm on a computer in my apartment complex's business center while I make a million copies) I'll have to post the latest tribute to my geekdom. I must reclaim my Queen of the Geeks status. I've been gone too long. And yes, it has everything to do with this thread.
And, for the record, as I posted in the similar thread elsewhere, for the animated League, it is all about Wally West for me. "I can never go that fast again."
Meanwhile, keep an eye out on sites like comics2film for information on the upcoming Legion of Superheroes animated show. A good friend of mine will be voicing the lead: Superboy. Woot! _________________ "SUPERMAN HATES MILK WITH THE FIERY INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS!"

Well, I try.....
That'd be all of them. But since it's kinda hard to see, here's a breakdown...
And that'd be my DC Animated toy collection. I'm missing Superman Animated from my collection, as they just weren't as widely released around these parts. _________________ "SUPERMAN HATES MILK WITH THE FIERY INTENSITY OF A THOUSAND SUNS!"

Is EVERYONE under the impression that Batman's the only human in the Justice League??
Green Arrow has a personality, more than Batman can say. A psychosis does not a personality make.

And the X-Men, who mutate "just cuz," are TOTALLY believable. Like a biological mutation would give you the ability to manipulate metal. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

But mutation is scientifical and sensible. Being born on a planet we have yet to discover comes out of the blue. |

Actually no it doesn't.
Genetic mutation won't ever, ever, allow a man to spontaneously develop spider powers or turn green and mad. Or turn into metal. Or manipulate possibility. Or allow cells to divide in milliseconds without requiring vast amouints of nourishment. Or manipulate the weather. Or teleport whilst making drmatic BAMF's. Or suck up life-energy by touch. Or as I said, make yours eyes portals into other universes where red shit splode stuff up.
Being an alien, superman can be and do whatever the fuck the writers want if there's some scientific (or psuedoscientific) possibility to explain those actions, and so far, there are lots of good explanations. Flight? Diamagnetism. Strength? High gravity planet. Eye beams? Alien biology. Immune to bullets? Again, alien biology. Hypno-ray? Physic power, which coincidentaly are the most plausible powers mutants have in the Marvel universe other than simply super-athletisism most have.
But of course DC comics pausibility breaks down when you get to Teen Titans 'n' stuff. _________________

Mutations in which a frog accidentally has its eyes sunk into the roof of its mouth, or in which a lizard has an extra arm on its back, are sensible. Mutations in which the laws of physics/physiology/anatomy/mathematics/relativity/psychology are altered are NOT.
Feeling nitpicky: "scientifical"? _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

Yes. But, come on, being born on a planet that came out f the blue? Please tell me that getting "super" powers through something that actuall exists makes more sense than being born on a planet that lets you get them automatically.
Ok, you know what, now none of this makes sense to me. They both don't make any sense whatsoever, but to me, being born on a planet that makes you get powers from out of nowhere makes less sense.
Superman and Spiderman are both cool. Leave it at that. And you proved my point, too. |

Mutation, though convenient, alters ONLY the DNA strand. And no matter what happens to your DNA, you will never be able to alter the laws of probability like Scarlet Witch, or change the weather like Storm.
At least Superman has the decency to come from something unknown instead of horribly misrepresenting something that's real. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

Hypothetically you could cause an organism to develop ultra-powerful, ultra-precise electromagnets with extreme range and control in order to change weather, but the requirments of such powers would make it unfeasable. So yes, weather-control in an organism the size of a human is right out.
I think the guys who made highlander did it best when they simply stated that noone knew why or how immortality is given to the select few.
When creating fiction it is wise to focus on the plot rather than the devices that drive it. _________________

Yeah, but the NORMAL mechanisms responsible for weather would completely overpower whatever mutant abilities affected atmospheric conditions. Not to mention that chaos theory renders a lot of that moot -- for all Storm knows, the flying she does in New York could end up killing thousands of people in Japan. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

Why do bullets bounce off of Superman's chest, while a single punch to the stomach would make him double over for a few seconds. THE HUMAN FIST IS NOT AS STRONG AS A BULLET! And don't tell me "alien biology", either. Alien biology might explain his eyes, but not his uncanny, out-of-place resiliance to bullets. Superman is cool but he makes no sense to me.
But then again he doesn't have to make sense. He's Superman.
Also, he's a dick. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

I never liked Superman myself. Anyway, to answer that, alien biolgoy.
I know you said don't include it, but it's an undeniable fact that plot devices are part of sueprman's alien biology. _________________
