Emperor Alien

Has anyone else heard of the Emperor Alien? Apparently it's some kind of infertile queen, and it is born to fight, not to lay eggs. That's why it's called "Emperor". My know-it-all friend told me about it, but I'd like to get your opinions before I go to any conclusions.

Non-canonically there are xenomorph empresses, which are in my opinion stupidly named as xenomorphs time and time again are proven to be genderless other than in pr0n/alp varieties.

But emperor? They only exist on the fan-fics of a 10 year old .

There are Xenomorph Empresses. I've heard of Paul Anderson calling his Queen an Empress but I don't think it's true. It IS a bit different but that's because not all Queens, let alone everything are exactly the same. But Emperors? If there aren't Kings (opposite of Queens), then why should there be an Empreror opposed to an Empress? Kings/Emperors would serve no purpose as to already controlling the Hive, which the Queen already does completely well on her own. The only way I see a King fitting into the Hive would be taking the place of a Preatorian or the Alpha Male.

Aliens ARE genderless. It has been said that they can change genders, and I partly don't and do believe.

Also, it is said that the Queen is the only one WITH a gender, which is assumed female. To add anything else, I think the Preds in AVP were chumps, the Queen in AVP was a Xenomorphic T-Rex, and Emprerors are no more than a cheap creation to get more money off the AVP franchise. Basicly what I said was Emperors ARE a cool creation, but it's a creation for the younger fans or more obsessed-with-more-ideas fans because almost all of the canon Alien/Predator information is based off of the movies and the books.

The comics come up with crazy a$$ things like Gorrilla Aliens, Tiger Aliens, Flying Aliens, Brawlers, Spear Masters, and all that other crap. The ONLY reason the Runner is considered canon is because it is very similar to the Dog Alien from Alien 3. The Ravager takes away what Aliens are known for, Carriers are unessecary, Preatorian DO make the most sense in the life-cycle but aren't needed much, PredQueens defy the whole reason of the SuperFacehugger, and the Newborn (although considered canon) SHOULDN'T be canon. That piece of worthless crap (even more worthless than my or my dog's crap) is redundant.

Not accusing or offending anyone, but I hate the idea of any other kinds of aliens being called their host, like Gorrilla Alien. They're ALL Drones/warriors with different attributes but with the same reason. What this has to do with the Emperor is that it's not needed unless it takes the place of a Preatorian of an Alpha Male. An Empress is also a Queen that can do almost everything the Queen does except fight in the beginning of whatever war its hive is in. Personelly, the Predalien is the only one that makes sense, counting in the Dog Alien (Runner) as well.

Amen to that. The Newborn is a worthless piece of crap. That thing's actually the reason Resurrection is the least liked movie in the series, following AVP.

All of the films are official canon, followed by officially endorsed media, ie books, games, comics, etc.

In a public discussion, disregard of the official canon is a quick way to get your ass burnt to a crisp. Of course you can always show your opinion, but as long as you adhere to official canon in any kind of intellectual debate (ex. do xenomorphs have genders or not), it's a-okay.

I know no one violated this unspoken rule of online debates that trekkies often violate, but I'd just like to prevent it from happening.

But yes, I find that Alien IV was a fuckaldoodledoo. The best theory of xenomorph reproduction involces the host itself creating the embryo tissue under its own processes, using genetic information implanted by the facehugger into the hsot using some sort of virus. This would explain how the xenomorph was created alongside ripley, but it doesnt explain why several copies were created unseccesfully, or why ripley's spawn spontaneously mutated to incorperate even more human features. Something was messed up, the movie, or 29th century cloning technology.

If I recall, Dr. Whatsisname from AvP2 (the game) refers to the alien queen several times as an empress, namely in the last few Marine and Alien campaign levels.

Yes. What got me confused is that sometimes it's refered to as the Queen, and then the Empress. The Empress is EXACTLY like the Queen, except it's much like the Preatorian of the MOTHER (The Royal Hive's Queen, aka the Queen of Queens. You'll know what I'm talking about if you've read the books...). It's design is slightly different from the original Queen, and is believed to be both physically stronger and smarter, and is bigger. What I don't like about this is that the Queen in AVP is believed to be an Empress, and that one was like a Xenomorphic Rabid T-Rex that just got out of the Prehistoric Nut house; the complete opposite of its description.

Well the "Queen" in AvP2 looks quite differnet from the queen you get to fight/play as during gameplay.
