So, what do you guys think about the new Bond? I read lots of stuff that he sucks (well, not that Lazenby did such a good job...) but I have to see the movie for myself first... please share your opinion.

Bond movies are formulaic.

And overated.

i'm going to see it, just to see if they made good on their promise to return to the style of the older ones. still, i'm not sure i'm liking the new actor very much, dirty blonde just doesn't fit bond for me, and he just doesn't look gentleman-like enough.

and i am a bond freak, those movies just rock. even though it's the same thing over and over......and over...........and over again

Funny you should mention Lazenby. FWIW, IMHO he was the closest to the Bond from the books. Not that that kept him from sucking.

Connory was the bestest Bond for my money. And the movies have all sucked ever since Roger Moore was miscast as Bond. Except Never Say Never Again or whatever it was called with Connory reprising the role.

Brosnan wasn't a bad Bond at all, but by the time he got there the movies were turds. Nothing but "How can we make this more sucktacular than the last one."

Well, I read somewhere it was actually Dalton who was the Bond closest to the one in the books. And I also think Connery (with an e Wink

) is indeed the best Bond evah! I also like Brosnan, too bad most of the Brosnan movies are so... modern... that's why Goldeneye is probably my favourite Bond movie. It kept the style of the old ones, but in a new jacket.

Anywhore, I'm gonna watch the movie to see if this guy really sucks ass and if they followed the book correctly. I read it two times and liked it, so I'm really wondering if they made a good movie out of it.

In the first place, you are all crowding me in my own head. I told you there was only room for the 14 of us, and now you are crowding us into the crawlspace. Only Art is supposed to be in the crawlspace, and even he isn't really supposed to be there.

The Spaz came from my annoyance at your uninvited entry into my head. I was typing the quote tag by hand, and Spaz sort of spontaneously generated. I thought about changing it to the offically-approved name, but then I thought, "Nah".

The fact that this new movie is Casino Royale very interesting for several reasons. First, it was the first Bond Book. Second, it is the first movie in a long time that is actually based on a book, not the fevered wet-dreams of some permanently-adolescent hollywood script whore. Fourth, Casino Royale was already made into a movie with David Niven and Peter Sellers playing Bond. Seventh, in the book, all the action takes place either in the Casino, or with Bond under the nefarious control Le Chiffre. In other words, no car chases. Hah! Plus, Bond almost loses his balls.

Well there were some movies that made me regret going to see...like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. That movie was ass.
And Scary Movie 3...my aunt made me and my mom go to see it. I wanted to see something else. Atleast I didn't pay for that crappy peice.
