It was directed by the Watchowski brothers (bet I mispelled it). Does it have any bullet-time action?

I have been to see it twice!

The only issue I had was with the portrayal of Guy Falks as some kind of misunderstood freedom fighter, instead of the deranged religious fanatic that he was.

We don't remember November the 5th because he was a hero, we remember because he was captured before he could kill anyone. Confused

I would much rather be remembering September the 10th for the same reason, given the choice.

The rest of the film is awesome though. Very Happy

It does have a part that could be considered bullet-time...

Phew, thats a relief.

PS: If we are going to be pedantic about these things then shouldn't you start a sentence with a capital letter? Just a thought.... Rolling Eyes

Actually Guy Fawkes day can be either celebrated as Guy Fawke's failure, or his attempt.

I, being a devout Catholic, opt for the latter.

Well actually Simon, if we are going to be technical about these things then the rememberance of Fawkes day is a celebration of his failure. There are no recorded events in the UK that celebrate his attempted mass murder.

Not even the Catholic church in the UK looks at it as a missed oportunity, especially given the fact that the plot was hatched by a section of the British aristocracy intent on returning themselves to a position of authority - using the excuse of religeon as a cover.

Your comments do rather beg the question though; given your Catholic admiration for Fawke's aborted machinations, do you mean that if you were Islamic then 9/11/01 would be cause for celebration?

First of all, I was joking, and 9/11 is completely besides the point. I was joking that Fawkes day should be celebrated for his attempt to blow up parliment, not the attempted mass murder.

Second, I said it that Fawkes Day could be celebrated for the attempt, and I know it isn't officialy held in that view by any power or institution of any real importance. As I said, it was a joke. I mean, really, who doesn't want to walk into thier goverment office and blow it up for fireworks?Oh sorry, forgot you have yet to call a technician to calibrate your funnydar.

And actually in fact I'm betting there are a lot of people in the middle east who are celebrating 9/11. Specifically Muslim extremists. Jsyk.

Btw, was it just me or did this movie borrow some stuff from 1984?

Not that I mind, I love that book...

Sorry, Simon...call me fussy if you must, but religious extremism is just not all that funny.

Next time, why don't you warn us all that you are going to make a joke...that way I will be ready for it when it arrives. Wink

Indeed it shouldn't, but it is to some. Call me an ass but I find the fat that the middle east suddenly lashed out at Dutchland (intentional) because of a few comic strips kind of hilarious, in an ironic sort of way. Totally fucked up and scary but you can't deny there's humor.
