I just got back from seeing this, and I'm still not entirely sure what it was about, but it sure was cool. It's half kung-fu movie and half spoof of kung-fu movies. There's serious bits and bits where you're just going, "WTF??" It seems like a crazy cross between Croutching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Loony Toons.

There's a moment where the main character is trying to kill somebody with throwing knives, and ends up with all three buried in his shoulders, and then gets bitten on the face by two cobras. He somehow survives this, but not before his lips swell up to four times their normal size and he has a horrific halucinigenic rampage. Then he gets chased over miles in a Road Runner-type race by a fat lady with curlers in her hair. It's just crazy. Ebert called it "Like Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny." That's about right. Anybody else seen it yet?

The storyline is this:
Crazy guy tries to murder his way into a thug gang.
He gets banged by the landlady of Pig Sty Condos.
He joins gang and hires assasins to kill landlady n her hubby.
She whups assasin's asses n he releases an insane bastard from some ward.
The loon nearly kills him, landlady, and hubby.
They recover and turns out he is the chosen 1.
He uses his newfound powers 2 fuck up loon's big murder attempt. The End.

All I know is that it's from the same folks who made Shaolin Soccer, so I'm doing my damnedest to see it (which is tough, as there are no theaters in my immediate area....)

I'm not sure that the story line was a big selling point of this movie.

I absolutely want to see it, but haven't gotten the opportunity yet. On vacations, I've seen a whole mess of Stephen Chow's movies prior to his Western breakout, and he is easily one of my favorite comedic Hong Kong actors ever.

Stephen Chow's flicks makes me ROLFLOL everytime.definatly my choice for one of the best comedic actors of all time.
