Fallout 1 battles did always seem a little bit more harsh than the ones in Fallout 2.
Must've been the lack of ridiculously powerful gear.
And the ability to get your Small Guns skill really, really, really high.

Must be because Fallout 2 is less serious...
Plus, I have mixed feelings about the addition of some of the real life weapons... with the Pancor Jackhammer and the P90C as an exception ofcourse... those things are fucking kickass!!!

I just realized that. Hell isn't the last level. You're only half-way through lol.
You defeat the guardian by destorying the seekers, then destroying the orb on its back. The soulcube is released from the guardian when it dies.
I was confused because you said you were near the end of the game, hence the cyberdemon references. Just shoot the abstards seekers and orb. It goes kaboom, you get da cube, and keep going through the game.
