I felt the same way, too. But looking back at it now, I realize that it was to help us understand what is/was written--helping to understand not only in terms of diction, but by syntax. How one writes is just as important as what s/he writes. I just know that if I had paid a little more attention to my grammar lessons, it would have made learning languages a hell of a lot easier...
But, anyways. We digress.

That's called reviewing. It's meant to help you, not hurt. 
You'd be surprised at the number of people older than you who cannot tell the difference between a noun and an adjective.

try me, i dare u. but seriously, mom sat me down this morning and laid out the first date rules. one: he has to come over sometime before so she can meet him. two: gotta be a double date (she threatened to send my sister and her friend, but ryan got a couple of his friends, thank god), and three: she's friends w/ almost all the cops here in town and she said a background check willbe done. i dont know about u guys, but i think that last bit is a tad over the edge.

Where should I start?
Oh yes the dating. My sister knows everything even before I do. She is ripe for SOVA (Intelligence agency). My parents allways do a background check when I introduce my girlfriend, but not cop checks, noooooo. The family and friends check. I hate that.
