Hehe, reminds of this LotR flash movie were Sam and Frodo are walking through Mordor and Sam is talking about serious stuff and then the camera turns to Frodo and he's putting the Ring on and off of his finger saying "Ring goes on, Ring goes off, Ring goes on, Ring goes off".

Give that the forum's main topic is spaming that shouln't surprise you. Further more a topic with many subjects is rather fun and much more like a real conversation witch usualy changes subject at 5 minutes intervals.

It's not the off-topicness, it's the fact that nerd club and Academic Decathlon exist at all that I find fascinating. Maybe it's an American thing, the only club I was in was the rugby club. Thinking about it I did try to start a roleplaying group in high school with my mates. I guess that's pretty nerdy. The head of year wouldn't let us do it; I later found out this was because he was a Bible basher and thought that roleplaying = Satanism.
