But, back on topic.. this is the first Christmas I'll have a girlfriend so I am excited about it! But, I have no idea what to get her for Christmas. Any suggestions? She has something in mind for me, I guess, but she is keeping it a secret. I want to get her something, but I have no idea what to get her.. |
How long have you been dating? I think that's also a slight factor at work here. I mean, I would not suggest jewelry if you've only been dating for a few months. Maybe some sort of trinket (e.g. angels if she's into that) or music might be best? Get something that shows that you care about her and that reflects that you are aware of her (dis/)likes because you listen. But I guess that's the obvious answer that doesn't really answer much of anything.
Well, I tried. Maybe not very hard, but oh well. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

Isaac: how about some perfume? Not overly intimate, and she'll like it because she knows you like it. That way it's a gift for you too....
That's what I think would be nice from a new boyfriend. From a more serious one, maybe some jewelry, even though a bit cliche. In any case it shows he spent time picking something out.
Since I don't have either kind of boyfriend, I'll just hope for an iPod Nano from my folks.

I resent that... it's like... with a really big harddrive for very very much music and it's like... totally worth the price... and there are like... cool things you can do with it... you know like... installing Linux on it... and like... giving the finger to Microsoft by doing so... and stuff... _________________

From what I know, the iPod is the most profit-making mp3 player currently. haha _________________ Certified Evil Bastard. Serving your cuppa at Starbucks Terminal One Arrival Hall, Singapore. The one who started Premium Evil's tea. |

Pair of thongs just sounds weird. Unless you're actually talking about a 2-pack of thongs.
And I agree about you saying Ipods are overrated.Thats why I laugh when I see the ads on the subway for the IPOD/Bose speakers, two of the most overhyped brands out there. _________________ "You have to quote from books to look clever. oh.. yeah, that`s it.
i got sandisk.. 1 GB. i heard its good, but the deal was better than buying an iPod shuffle for nearly double that amount. it was a sale at circuit city. _________________ Yours Queen of Cloud 9

Makes sense. Yeah, we've only been seeing each other for a few months. A CD of some music she likes is a good idea
| jennif wrote: | Isaac: how about some perfume? Not overly intimate, and she'll like it because she knows you like it. That way it's a gift for you too.... ... |
She might not like that. She doesn't like most perfumes, so she doesn't wear them. So, I may go with the CD suggestion. _________________

Ebay.
Seriously.
I'm not much for christmas lists. I feel bad about asking for anything, let alone making a list of what I want.
Good thing I've got the cashmoney. I bought my own presents. With any luck, the assholes at Huuto.net(an auction site) won't bullshit me this time and I'll actually get my things when I'm supposed to, not a month afterwards.
For the record, I'm getting "The Impression That I Get" by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, "Porvari nukkuu huonosti" by KOM-teatteri, Deus Ex for the PC and the Necronomicon*(Or I would get it, if these assholes would just stop outbidding me).
*Yes, I know that there isn't a "real" Necronomicon. Shut up.
I love Huuto.net, though. I'm doing most of my shopping there now. I even got an early christmas present for my friend from there. A leather miniskirt, size 34(tiny).
He refuses to talk to me now. _________________ bitchez n hose |

Ah, another fan of Lovecraft's fiction? Which version of the Necronomicon are you trying to obtain, if I may ask?
I myself am hoping I get some books for Yule. Violence and the Sacred by René Girard, Purity and Danger by Mary Douglas, and other books on anthropology/philosophy &c.. And also Master and Margarita by Bulgakov.
And chocolate. Mmm.... chocolate... |
