How long have you been dating? I think that's also a slight factor at work here. I mean, I would not suggest jewelry if you've only been dating for a few months. Maybe some sort of trinket (e.g. angels if she's into that) or music might be best? Get something that shows that you care about her and that reflects that you are aware of her (dis/)likes because you listen. But I guess that's the obvious answer that doesn't really answer much of anything.
Well, I tried. Maybe not very hard, but oh well.

Isaac: how about some perfume? Not overly intimate, and she'll like it because she knows you like it. That way it's a gift for you too....
That's what I think would be nice from a new boyfriend. From a more serious one, maybe some jewelry, even though a bit cliche. In any case it shows he spent time picking something out.
Since I don't have either kind of boyfriend, I'll just hope for an iPod Nano from my folks.

I resent that... it's like... with a really big harddrive for very very much music and it's like... totally worth the price... and there are like... cool things you can do with it... you know like... installing Linux on it... and like... giving the finger to Microsoft by doing so... and stuff...

From what I know, the iPod is the most profit-making mp3 player currently. haha

so apparently.. according to my aunt (who lives with us) my mother is planning on being extra nice to me this year and giving me a $150 gift card to Victoria's Secret.

its the cheap ass in me who has to look for a better deal.. with other brands. and i succeeded.
i just don't like trends. :\

Pair of thongs just sounds weird. Unless you're actually talking about a 2-pack of thongs.
And I agree about you saying Ipods are overrated.Thats why I laugh when I see the ads on the subway for the IPOD/Bose speakers, two of the most overhyped brands out there.

i got sandisk.. 1 GB. i heard its good, but the deal was better than buying an iPod shuffle for nearly double that amount. it was a sale at circuit city.

She might not like that. She doesn't like most perfumes, so she doesn't wear them. So, I may go with the CD suggestion.
