i saw the most awesome movie on the sc-fi channel last night. its this new movie called "Locusts:The 8th Plague". its about (as im sure youve probably already guessed) this swarm of bio-enbineered desert locusts created by this company as an alternative pest control method to pesticides. the locusts do a pretty swell job of it, but, typically, they also develop a taste for humans and escape to a county in idaho and go on a killing spree.
has anyone else seen this movie?

Sounds like Mimic to me. Is this a SCIFI original picture? I'm guessing yes.

It's a Guillermo Del Toro movie about a species of roach developed to kill off another insect that was spreading disease. It gets big and smart and starts looking like people so that it can eat them. It's pretty cool.
I've pretty much learned not to ever watch a SCIFI original picture. They are invariably cheap and crappily written and have painfully bad acting. Every single one of them is about some mutated animal and how it's going to kill everybody, and every single one is named after the animal in the movie. Locusts. Python. Boa. Boa vs. Python. Frankenfish. Larva. Mosquito. Lemur. Tree Frog. Etc. Not exactly quality television.

yeah, some, no, alot of them are pretty shitty. hell, thats half the fun of watching those movies. find a buddy and make fun of the special effects, acting, etc... but most of the time, i watch the movies just to see what critter they came up w/ this time. i thiught frankenfish was pretty good. it has one of the funniest pick-up lines i've ever heard "youre awfully pretty for a girl whos covered in fish guts." (i know, im very easily entertained) gargantua sucked big-time. mosquito was pretty bad. boa was fairly interesting, and ive only seen half of BVP, but it looked cool. the movies i absolutely WILL NOT watch are those roach movies like they nest or they crawl. i will sit there and watch an alien rip a huge, gaping hole in someones chest w/ blood, organs, and god knows what else spewing everywhere w/out a problem but i am thoroughly sickened by cockroach movies.

I was planning on making "Attack of the killer things that fall out of trees and we haven't got a name for yet because everybody who is attacked by them doesn't live long enough to tell the others!!!"... but it never really got of the ground...

Well, I made this level for Unreal Tournament with just one tree in a big field, and one spawnpoint... now if you were to walk underneath that tree, you would instantly die... so I added a bot to the map while being in Spectator Mode to record it... but no matter what I tried, the friggin bot wouldn't walk underneath the tree... well, not while the recording program was actually recording!!!

Yeah, but my internet connection sucked at the time, and seeing as the only way I could do that was via the internet, it would become rather difficult. But now that you mention it, I'm going to a friend sometime this week to show him all the good shit in San Andreas and then we could try it... I mean, he's got a laptop and a pc, so it should work...
