YOU BLASPHEMER!!! Meriadoc Brandybuck (a.ka. Merry) and Peregrin Took (a.k.a. Pippin) are the two Hobbits that were in the Fellowship of the Ring. Together with Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf Grayhem (a.ka. Gandalf the Grey, Mithrandir, Stormcrow etc etc and later on Gandalf the White), Aragorn son of Arathorn (a.k.a Estel, Strider, Elessar and some more names), Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli son of Gloin and Boromir, prince of Gondor.
Even though they are only small, they played a significant part in the War of the Ring. Pippin made sure Denethor didn't burn his son, Faramir, alive when he thought he was already dead... and Merry helped Lady Eowyn (a.k.a Dernhelm at the time) slay the Witch-king of Angmar, the leader of the Dark Lord's (a.k.a Sauron and a lot of other names) Nazgûl (a.k.a Ring Wraiths).
But it's ok if you don't know that... I just wanted to show everybody what a dedicated LotR geek I am.

i've never been much of an LotR fan. just didn't interest me. but with all the racket about Elrond all over the place, i think i'll look into the DVDs.
