Most new slasher movies today kinda suck. I wish I could return to the glorious times when movies like Halloween and Hellraiser, along with Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th, and any Romero Zombie flick, were on top again. Starting with Scream, they have gotten progressively worse. Jeepers Creapers? What an awful f-ing movie that was. Oh boy and they made a sequel, even better. Some are ok I think (Ringu, 28 Days Later, Rob Zombie's films, Shaun), but for the most part these movies are geared towards obnoxious frat boys. Movies that could have been decent at best are made unviewable by being turned into platforms to display today's crap rock music (I'm not old, I just yearn for the greatness that was the early 90s), and CGI, since most of these movies are shat out by suits who don't want to hire talented makeup people to do wounds and would prefer to have their Mac do everything. Alright, sorry to ramble.
So who is your favorite horror movie killer? I'll put the greats, and I'll put some more recent killers so everyone can play. I would have to say Pinhead from Hellraiser. He was usually quite calm and callous. Some of the other main characters from other films got too excited, maybe let their emotions get the best of them, and made too many mistakes. Pinhead would catch you, torture you, make you cry, create false hope that you might get to live, then make you feel like a dumbass for getting caught and begging for life. The Zombies from Dawn and Myers from Halloween are close seconds, but I have to go with Pinhead. _________________ All I want, to know, all I want, with just a touch of my burning hand I send my astro zombies to rape the land. I guess you could include those, but I was really listing films that I watched growing up, and a couple crap ones for people who might be too young to remember those, though Land is a great movie. _________________ All I want, to know, all I want, with just a touch of my burning hand I send my astro zombies to rape the land. I have a love/hate relationship with Jeepers Creepers. I feel like it could have been a great horror movie if they'd kept the same pace in the second half as they did in the first. When it started out, it was very morbid, claustrophobic and creepy, with an interesting monster and an isolated backwoods setting, but in the second half they throw in all sorts of crap that doesn't work, like a psychic lady who doesn't contribute anything, a bunch of cops for the monster to eat, a stupid ending that made absolutely no sense, and an attempt to explain what was going on that should have been left out entirely. Don't even get me started on the sequel.
I haven't voted because you didn't give me an option for Pumpkinhead. _________________ The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I'll never be as good as a wall.

i just hate horror movies.well i don't hate them but i get nothing out of it.everything has been seen thousands times.again and again.and why are they even called horror movies?there is nothing horrible in them (except the acting in Jeepers Creepers 2).I fall asleep every other time when i watch one of the newer horror/slasher flicks.why is no one possible to give me a scare with one of their movies? _________________

I like monster movies. But I also like when the victim fights back. _________________ "You're lucky attacking ends the spell or I would smack the crap out of all of you."

Sorry no Pumpkinhead, but this is my list. Maybe pick a fav from this one. I really didn't want to have an entire forum page dedicated to my poll, so I picked some of the best, and some crappy ones to see how many people really like the new stupid American pop culture driven horror. _________________ All I want, to know, all I want, with just a touch of my burning hand I send my astro zombies to rape the land. cant remember which one it was, but in one of the Friday13th movies Jason zipped up some nude chick in a sleeping bag and smacked it against a tree, pretty damn funny if you ask me. _________________

Dude! That was classic! It's actually re-enacted(sorta) in Jason X.
And I'm not sure. I'm kind of between Jason and Freddy, with Pinhead as a close second. _________________ bitchez n hose |

The zombies get my vote. Horror movie franchises exponentially decrease in quality as time goes by, but zombies always deliver the goods. Except in the Resident Evil film. But hey Paul Anderson has a sort of reverse Midas touch where everything turns to crap, so what do you expect.
Honourable mention for Leatherface for killing the really annoying whiner in the first 'massacre. _________________

Well, I guess Pinhead then. Although I like Chatterer best of all the Cenobites. _________________ The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I'll never be as good as a wall.

Could you imagine if the dead just fricken woke up right now. Every one who has died recently enough not to be just be bones. There would be millions. Billions. Earth would be boned. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

Even tho it makes the most "sense", I would enjoy it if the zombies would stop actually being virus ridden mutant like things. DotD kicked ass, dont get me wrong, but still. I think it would be erier if no one knows the cause. Maybe hell is too full to keep taking our blackened souls. Or perhaps the dead just decided to wake up one day and grab a bite to eat.
No viruses. Just actual, evil, living dead. _________________ You forget one thing: rock crushes scissors. But paper covers rock... and

I kinda don't understand how a virus or whatever could reanimate the dead. A parasitic symbiote that reinvigorates and controls the corpse seems more reasnoble, but still far fetched.
I believe zombie sshould be toally super-natural undead entities. Either the tormented, wretched, and deprived souls of the damned punished to feed without satisfaction for eternity, or the souless minions of a greater power intent on hell on earth. _________________

I totally love the dude from Scream. Can't really say I've seen the others... but the funny thing is, he's kind of a fuck up... if I remember correctly, he even tripped somewhere in the movie (or was that Scary Movie)... and the phonecall is just a classic...
