i guess it's all about discipline. just discuss whatever's on the topic, or stuff like that. a random moment of roleplay is okay i guess, but even that needs to be under your reins. otherwise, the mod and admin will be pulling reins - your reins.

Yeah, I need to figure out all the nuances of these rules. We all have a bit of a tendency to go off topic occasionally.
Roleplaying topics *sigh* obviously will contain roleplaying.
Simon's addendum to the rules is appreciated. I figure when people stop replying to this, I will split off the original post by Bernie and close it so that we will have a permament set of rules visible to all.

Should there maybe also be a rule that people try to make their posts readable. I don't really know if we have lots of trouble with people who are grammatically impaired lately, but I always think it's nice if you can understand it without too much trouble... just a thought...
And maybe make a rule that says that I'll bitchslap anyone who get's more posts than me? Pretty please with sugar on the bottom?

They're taking all the fun to Isengard!
In my opinion, rules make message forums a little boring. Sure, without them one would get flooded with idiots with an agenda, but it's not like forums are meant to last. They're like cigarettes; A bad habit, that makes you seem cooler on the 'net, but alienates you from those who don't participate and each one is supposed to last only so long.

i suppose you are right, but with the events happening around here *man, i was only back for around a week, after a looooong vacation*, the rules may be neccessary. i dunno, ask those who've been around the past month or so. maybe simon_says or metal pred may know.
