McFarlane Figures: Breaking the best.

I'm quite positive that the McFarlane toys have a built in self destruction mechanism and break after a certain time, whether or not you're careful with them. How do I know? I gave my 5 year old cousin a Viking Spawn for his birthday, thought it looked cool and took advantage of the sale and bought myself one too. Now, I don't remember the exact time, but I think it was about a month later, give or take a week or two, that I broke mine. I was cleaning up my room, nabbed it by the arm and a piece of it's arm came off, sending the poor bugger falling to the floor and damaging it pretty much permanently. Later that day, I got a call from my aunt, asking how I was doing and when I was going to return the Windows CD. During our conversation, she mentioned that my cousin had just broken the toy I had given him. It's arm came off during one of his little 'experiments'. He's the kind of kid that likes to catapult all of his toys across the yard and use them as hammers.
Let's go over it one more time, just to make sure you got it;
1 figure was used as a tool and a projectile weapon.
1 figure was standing in a shelf, collecting dust.
Both broke ON THE EXACT SAME DAY.

Bite me, McFarlane.

I agree. To hell with McFarlane toys.

But they get the rights to the stuff, so we, the consumers and collectors, are screwed becuase the sculpters at McFarlane Toys have a hard-on for "sculpts"... when they arn't re-using certain sculps.

I would have liked to get their new military figures, but, you know, miniature sculptures n shit.

I have a pred' and it's wristblades snapped aswell as one of it's tendrils. Also some wires off the backpack snapped to. Sad

seems like the newer mcfarlane toys are more brittle than the old ones.

I have 17, and 5 have broken. I've only broken brittle things, like weapons or decorations, never had an arm or head fall off. The older ones are more pose-able and seem less delicate. The newer ones I have are harder to make stand up, and feel more brittle when you try to turn their arms or whatever. Mcfarlane figures are awesome though. I have them on my dresser Razz

Ok now I am PISSED. My only unbroken scar pred just fucking BROKE. Fell OFF the stand and the thing that holds his shoulder canon in place just BROKE. GAH.

I have a couple problems actually with my Pred (from the Alien and predator series (the newest one)) his battle armor is a bit loose and his gun doesnt stay at the same damn place, I hvae to use his hair to hold the plasma canon...other than that, my Alien and Alien Queen are perfectly fine.

i just saw the new AVP playsets - they are crap! Celtic's hands are attatched to grids legs, scarhas only that one pose - its annoying as hell. They make "playsets" which are mini dioramas.
