Pretty sure she used dirt of some kind. But I can relate to your disbelief, I was trying to convince myself that "Julie" could be a male name for a while. Then I met her in real life and was further in awe of her transformation.

She made it. Took a helluva long time and a lot of talent but I think the huge response she got made it all worthwhile. Besides, she could get drunk off her ass and still remain perfectly in character.
