I OWN a TV with Digital, and I still don't know who won Pop Idol.
Or watch Big Brother, or Corronation Street, or East Enders.
I'm so out of the loop.
Of which I am glad. | My TV is for video games and kung fu movies only!! _________________ "You're lucky attacking ends the spell or I would smack the crap out of all of you."

Is that a question? Because if it is, it's rather silly and prejudiced.

Well, that's basically the same city, isn't it?

*Bitch-slaps Munan back to Zwolle*
It's not. If you would say Hengelo and Enschede were almost the same city, it wouldn't have mattered. Hell, at a certain point in time of our sad, sad history, they even wanted to combine the two to make Twentestad... fucking wankers...
Anyhoo, didn't we already have this conversation about Amsterdam being the dope capital of Europe? _________________

You know, that remark is actually funny, because at the moment I'm visiting my mother and grandmother in Zwolle.

I think that was quite a good idea, really
*runs for the mountains*

Not with me, "we" didn't, and I don't like it when people refer to Amsterdam in that way.
Like the other day, when I was shopping, this American couple (young twentysomethings) came up to me and went like "excuse me, can you tell us where the red light district is"
and it really pisses me of, because it's like, oh well, you know, there is the Rijksmuseum with world famous art like the Nightwatch by Rembrand, and over there is the really interesting Anne Frank House, now we've got a good museum with modern art close to the railway station, etc. etc. etc.
Dope and hookers are just a tiny part of Amsterdam, and there's not more of it than in - say - Berlin or London (or New York) , we're just not so fucking coy about it!
And now because of our non-hypocrisy about all this, we get that reputation, and it's all plain stupid and it says more about those who hold this view about Amsterdam then about the city itself. Wankers! _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Yeah, Amsterdam is not the crack-whore city of Holland. I mean, we got drugs and tutes in Groningen as well... wait, that's not really helping, now is it.... _________________

They sell it everywhere, but in Amsterdam it's out in the open. So please stay away, will you, and come when the rest of our culture interests you as well. _________________ The Justified Ancient of Mu Mu |

Probably... according to my CKV (the subject in school that deals with cultural shit) teachers, I'm missing out on a lot of cultural stuff... but I couldn't imagine what... and I don't really care...
We also had to do an oral about CKV at the end of the year, but the first time I got an insufficient... the second time I got a sufficient but actually only because my CKV teacher felt sorry for me if I couldn't graduate because of CKV... that was so sweet of her. _________________

I think you posted in the wrong thread But while we're on the topic of Mel Brooks, favorite movie? Young Frankenstein has to be my favorite, but it's closely followed by Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs and History Of The World Part 1. Oh, and Robin Hood: Men In Tights. And High Anxiety. Damn, it's hard to choose a favorite. _________________ The depressing thing about tennis is that no matter how good I get, I'll never be as good as a wall.

| Well, as far as famous people go, none from where I live, just a small town in SC. Our only claim to fame is we were the cradle and deathbed of the Confederacy. It was first discussed here, and Jefferson disbanded his cabinet here. |
