Which saber fight do you think was coolest, or could have been if ONE THING were different about it.
I say Darth Maul's had the greatest potential with that staff, but all he did was kick and twirl AWAY from the stupid fight. _________________

I'd have to say Yoda vs Dooku.
Great Fight, Yoda fighting like the legend that he is. _________________

bah, everyone loves the twirly little CG characters the most. I personally root for the bad guys, knowing that they'll always lose cuz movies these days just dont keep up with real life anymore. _________________

lol i think the last movie i saw when the bad guy won, like actually won. not a draw like in Leon.
Was like Rocky, Rocky being the good guy and theoretically, Apollo Creed being the bad guy.
I was totally not expecting that ending when i 1st saw the movie. _________________

I actually like Luke vs Vader in RotJ best. There's just something about the lighting and the taunting.
Though, I have to say, I found Obi-Wan & Qui-Gon versus Darth Maul really enjoyable (especially the music) and Obi-Wan vs Anakin really good too. _________________ You can read my various fan fictions here.

Yeah, John Williams's "Duel of the Fates" definitely does credit to his reputation. I personally liked the Maul fight just for pure style, with the double-bladed staff being utilized with surprising agility. When you see fights with a wooden bo or other form of staff, you have a little more versatility in that you can hold it at any point along the length of the staff. That wasn't the case here, so I was very impressed with how visually stunning they managed to make the entire fight. If only there wasn't that blither with Anakin in space, Jar Jar on the ground, and Amidala in Theed to get in the way.
Plus, now there's a new catch phrase making its way around: "make like Darth Maul and split" . _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

It had the music and the scenery to be the greatest fight. Plus he kills Liam Neeson, who, is very hard to kill. (Rob Roy, Kingdom of Heaven, etc., he doesn't die easily!)
I do like how Mace beat Sidious tho. _________________ "For those who believe, no explanation is necessary, for those who do not, none shall suffice." |

Suggestive Threat: I believe that the exclusion of Master Revan was a discriminate move against the more powerful Sith Lords of olden times.

Vader versus Luke, episode VI. I don't like the new ones. Light sabers popping up used to mean "get out of the way, the big boys are gonna play". Now it's just "looks like another five minutes has passed, let's frantically beat eachother off, like super-caffeinated people, suffering from tourette's, on fast replay!".
George Lucas deserves to have his spine removed through his ass. _________________ bitchez n hose |

this is a tough one to crack. I liked anakin vs obi, maul vs obi, and vader vs luke. maul vs obi because of how SEXY the fight was, anakin vs obi because of the intensity of the fight, and luke vs vader because... well, seeing luke ruthlessly attack vader was kinda cool _________________ Needing is Wanting

I didn't really like any of the fights in the new movies. Too much flipping and unrealisting CG bullcrap. I think I'd have to go with Vader vs. Luke - but I can't remember which fight was the best. |

Sideous/Yoda
It was still under developed. I mean, this was a battle between the two most powerful force users in the galaxy (Anakin had the potential, but he was still under the command of Sidious later on).
It should have had somthing more similiar in atmosphere and scope than Obi-wan vs Anakin. _________________

HUH?? Maul vs. Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon's only CG effect was the lightsaber glow, and I found the vaulting to be a welcome addition to the force arsenal of the Jedi. But then, maybe that's just me. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

I so totally agree with that.
I just love the dialog in the middle of it:
Darth Vader: Give yourself to the dark side. It is the only way you can save your friends. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for... sister! So...you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her, too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will.
Luke: Never-r-r!

| For sure Vader v Luke in VI. I know the fight itself may not have been as fluid and beautiful as the duels in the newer episodes, but this one still blows them away in my opinion. The combination of the excellent soundtrack, scenery, and raw emotion still gives me a tingling feeling each time I watch it. I also like to think that the reason there is not so much twirling and dancing around in this duel is because Vader and Luke are so strong with the force that they are sublty using their force powers on each other. Same situation with Vader v Obi-wan in IV. Vader v Luke in V was too much of a blowout in Vader's favor to go the same force power way like in VI. Why would Vader use his saber when he could just force-throw props at his son? |

Ehh, I didn't like that fight that much. Sure, it was really significant in terms of character development, but there were so many points where Luke managed to position himself between the Emperor from Darth Vader and could have ended most of the galaxy's problems right then and there, including freeing his father from Imperial bondage. _________________ Grrrr...RAAAAARRRGHHH!!!

I don't think that killing good ol' Palpie would turn Darth Astma back to the bright side... I mean light side... you know, the not so dark side of the Force. I mean, it's not like with Yuri that he's mentally connected to him and under his control. He was his pupil. If Luke killed the Emperor, I think that Vader would try to complete Luke's journey to the dark side and rule the galaxy like father and son. It was seeing Luke being Force Electrified by Darth Sidious that made Ani turn. _________________
