I mean, I'm trying. I do like them, but they're not blowing me away like everyone's claiming. I didn't go looking for that hype either, it just built up after stumbling upon countless OH MY GOD FLO <3333 comments on the internet.
I don't want to call bullshit on all the Florence fans - I really hope I'm missing something here. It's not the first time I've tried, either. Maybe they'll just grow on me, I dunno. It's just very disappointing at this point. It's Arcade Fire all over again. |
The Lungs album has some good moments, Kiss With a Fist being probably my favorite track on it. But I didn't even bother to listen to the second album, the bits I heard seemed really boring. |
I'll take another listen to Lungs (I've actually got the newer Between Two Lungs, or I think it's newer), but for the most part I agree with you, it was just boring. Maybe it's not them, just, art rock in general. Maybe it's not for me. It's too indie. |

"MOFO" - U2
God, this song kicks so much fucking ass, especially on a good sound system with the volume cranked up. Been listening to their ZOOTV/POPMart era a lot lately. I regret the little amount of time I spent listening to POP in the past.
It still hasn't climbed near the top of my list, though. Maybe that'll change in the future. |

"Ton Desamour" - Marilou Bourdon
French pop. There's something big about this one that makes me listen to it 10 times in a row every time it comes on my iPod. I really like Emmanuelle Caplette's drum cover. |

I don't get the fuss over Frank Ocean. Is that just me?
Okay, sure. Not bad. But people I know praise him, and I just don't see it. |

A good songwriter. Not particularly impressed with his performance though.
Anyway,

"State of Grace" - Taylor Swift
Her latest single makes me hate myself, but this song, surprisingly from the same album, is incredibly well done. |

Aside from Taylor Swift I haven't been listening much to English-Language musicians, to be honest. Her latest single is wha, "We are never ever getting back together"? _________________ Certified Evil Bastard. Serving your cuppa at Starbucks Terminal One Arrival Hall, Singapore. Muse's new album, The 2nd Law. Say what you will about the electronic music of today - Track 2, "Madness," is fucking brilliant.
@Angelus: Yeah, and even though I love Taylor, it's just terrible. (Thankfully the rest of Red is pretty good.) |

Carly Simon's "Nobody Does It Better" - best Bond theme song of all time, and I'm prepared to kill and die in defense of that statement. _________________ i have no time for anal love

I finally saw Skyfall, and while I love Adele's song, I just don't love-love it.
That's what I've been listening to by the way, the Bond theme (from the latest film's particular soundtrack, called "Breadcrumbs" for some reason). I've also been trying to play the ride beat on the drums. You don't think about it while listening, but that shit's hard to play that fast and consistent. |
