I saw a license plate that read "SPDYGRL" the other day, but it probably stood for "Speedy Girl." _________________ Context is everything. |

Bought new army boots yesterday. They're all shiny and new!
Well, they're not really shiny so far, but I'm gonna polish them tonight _________________

This made me happy. Marlon Brando was a God among men and the classiest SOB to ever grace Hollywood. _________________

Battery in car gave me issues yesterday. Between not starting (1), not going past 2nd gear (2), then not going in reverse (3), to not going past 1st gear (4), to not starting, etc.
Managed to get it to the Service dept. and was told it would cost about $400 for a battery. 2-3 hours later they called and replaced the battery, washed the car and said they wouldn't bill me as I have been a "good customer".
Nice! _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Why do you need the battery in the car to change gears? Nice work on the free one though _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

The car's internal CPU controls the double clutch. It's still an "automatic". Near as I can tell, the CPU controls the distribution of power nowadays, whereas an older car would have been independent. I dunno... _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

That would make sense. Modern cars are way too complicated. You can take the battery out of mine once it's started and drive away, as long as you don't rev the engine too hard and blow the electrics with a surge _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Had an awesome LAN party this weekend. We mostly played Red Alert 2 and UT:GOTY. I didn't suck as hard as I thought I would. _________________

I've got to work in different hotels in my summer job, which I think is pretty interesting. On last Friday and today my task was to clean up air conditioner filters in the hotel rooms. The task is quite tiring, but it's not so bad when almost all the people are away from their rooms in daytime.
But today when I went to clean up the filters in a section where there were more vacant rooms I noticed that the bathroom doors were left open in all the clean rooms. Immediately when I saw the bathtub in the dark bathroom, surprise, The Shining popped into my mind. At least I got the filters cleaned up quicklier as I wanted to get out of the room as soon as possible... _________________ After my life I'm just gonna relaaax in Hell..! |

Bought a different house. I'd say new house, but it is older than the current house. Among the selling points was the view from the back:

Jeez Cfos. We can barely KEEP the house we have and you're buying houses and cars left and right! You must secretly have powers of alchemy. Everything you touch turns to gold. Teach me your secret!
Also...Got to go to Dorney Park and I got a 3DS for my birthday! Well...its an early birthday present but still! Its the Zelda edition! I should take pictures of it and post em...I can take pictures with it, too. But that's for later! _________________

No alchemy here, just careful spending, lots of hard work, planning, application, a bit of luck, and years of schoolin' and (finally) supporting each other (the Mrs. and me, that is). And we will put our current home on the market.
Although, if it'll make you feel better, we haven't had a vacation (excluding the 2 nights spent in Las Vagas last month) since 2007. Seriously though, excluding those 2 nights, there was a 5 year stretch of not going anywhere and my guess is that the streak of no vacations likely begins again this month. Also, me and the Mrs. really don't go out. I've been to... maybe the bars three times -- since moving here in 2003. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Then you are a very wise man that is married to an equally wise woman! Plus you got a kid so I could imagine you two not really doing the vacation thing because she's (I think your kid is a she. Correct me if I'm wrong!) still a bit too young. Excluding trips to Grandma and Grandpa of course!
My family don't really do vacations either but my dad has been on and off of furlough for a few years. That's why we're always broke! ;_; But dad is now working on that tunnel they're digging in NYC. Its supposed to be a 3 year job and dad's making a lot of cash doing what he does. So I'm happy. Also he's helping me with school and that pleases me greatly! _________________

2 girls, actually.
Yeah, we've been fortunate, but that also goes with some sacrifice during the lean years. Glad to hear things are going better for you and yours. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |
