I don't know about this. I guess it could be good, but it could also be very bad. I will probably check these out, though. _________________ i have no time for anal love

a) Who's writing.
b) Are they writing because they want to or because they're being paid for it. _________________

Well, that's the thing, innit? The DC dudes say they need to "keep the characters relevant", which roughly translates into "cash in on the sort of renewed interest in the title after the blockbuster movie made them somewhat recognizable again before they go back to obscurity."
Also, I can say a lot of negative things about Kevin Smith, but at least you have to give him credit for knowing his place in line. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Actually, come to think of it, has there ever been a sequel work in any medium made >10 years after the original that ever lived up to expectations? _________________

Good question, but weren't we talking about prequels? How about sequel or prequel > 10 years after.
Off the cuff, I think the best sequel that comes to mind (with a few years in between) is T2 which was released 7 years after Terminator, so that doesn't qualify. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

I never played Fallout 2, but it looks like Fallout 3 was released 10 years or so after 2. What do Fallout gamers think? _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Fallout 1 was the best game in the whole series. Fallout 3 is awesome, but I wouldn't call it the best sequel ever. _________________

The only one I can think of is "Toy Story 3".
I kinda don't want the prequels; I thought that the way the novel was written that they weren't really needed since you got the pertinent information from what they gave you. Not that I'm uninterested in the adventures of Rorschach & Night Owl or if they ever published an "Under the Hood" or a Minutemen series, I would have a hard time reading it as a stand-alone book and not comparing it to the source material. _________________ "Yeast devil! I see your point Ipsa, and I am hopeful that they do a good job with it. I do think that one issue is going to focus on the original Nite Owl and some early stuff -- maybe surrounding the Minutemen too. Time will tell, of course. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

So far, so good. Picked up and read the first Minutemen. Also picked up the first Silk Spectre, but haven't read it. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

As I said, the first one was Minutemen and the story kind of centered around the time Hollis was putting his book together (Under the Hood). Without giving away too much, he talks about how the Minutemen became "organized" and provides a little more detail about the characters. Having said that, I do enjoy back-stories so this "line" of background may not appeal to all. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |
