Finally got my internet fixed, or at least it SHOULD work now.. For the last few months it's been really bitchy and exasperating, but hopefully it will be fine again. _________________ After my life I'm just gonna relaaax in Hell..! |

I got the job I was interviewed for last week. Finally, a proper job, for actual money, that required the blood sweat and tears I put into obtaining a PhD to get. I unfortunately now have less than three weeks to relocate to a different county before I start work at the end of the month. All good. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Well, yes, I suppose it is, but it'll never pay well and the hours are shit.
@cfos. Same country, different county - I'm moving from Co. Cork to Co. Kerry, to a small village called Killorglin. Only about 2 hours from where I am now. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Irish, will you be there for Puck Fair? From Wiki:
Every year a group of people go up into the mountains and catch a wild goat. This goat is brought back to the town and the Queen of Puck Fair, traditionally the oldest virgin in the village (a girl from 6th class from the local primary schools - the queen changes every year) crowns the goat "King Puck". The goat is then put into a small cage on a high stand in the middle of the town. From this moment on, once the fair has started, there is singing and dancing, but mainly drinking. Pubs stay open until 3.00 AM although last call is at 02:30. On the opening day there is a horse fair and on the second day there is a cattle fair. In the main parking lot a company called Birds Bizarre has a collection of various portable rides and rollercoasters. The fair ends with a firework display which can be fully appreciated from the old iron railway bridge.
Guess they start 'em young.

Started my new job last week. I am now the principal ecologist of an ecotourism site based around a small area of conserved wetland in Tralee Bay. We are due to open our gates on the 31st of March, and my job for the moment as well as general all-hands-on-deck trying to get the centre ready, is to develop schools ecology programmes. To top things off, I am now living in a lovely little village (not Killorglin though) right in the middle of some of the best hiking, cycling and swimming countryside in the whole of Ireland.

Moved in to a new house with my girlfriend. We finally have our own front door, a garden and an actual attic! We still have some work to do to get it finished, but most of that is unpacking the rest of the boxes and hanging up stuff like clocks. _________________

Almost done with the next to last exam week this year.. I don't even remember when last time had four days passed this slowly, but now it's last one left, which made me pretty happy. And had the time to stick around here.. _________________ After my life I'm just gonna relaaax in Hell..! |

It was bananas. We had over 2000 people through between Sat and Sun, while all of the teething problems new buildings have were happening. Happily, everyone had a great time, and after Easter should be able to hire more staff so that I can a) actually take some time off, and b) get some real work done on the project. Enjoying my first day off in three weeks today _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Nice Irish! I'm actually taking my first vacation days too. Although, what truly made me happy was checking my retirement savings and seeing I'm back in the positive. Thank you economy! _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Just had a long weekend off from work (internship). Spend the 4 days mostly watching movies with my girlfriend. I finally got her to see Event Horizon. _________________

Capitals beat the Bruins in overtime last night. They move on to the Conference Semifinals and the Bruins move on to the golf course. _________________ "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."
