Finished the epilogue of the third book. Took some 1100+ pages, but wow. |
Need the newest book now! |
It'll never happen. He's gonna keep stringing you all along until he dies with the series unfinished.... _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

What kills me (and probably Ipsa) is that he left a note at the end of the 4th book saying that he hoped to finish the 5th book in a year or so. That note is dated 2005. Here we are ~6 years later and the 5th book should be out on Tuesday.
Seriously though, if you have the time, read these books. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

I read the first three many years ago - I enjoyed them, although I found the constant Machiavellian mindset of every single character got a little tedious after a while. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Well, I don't know about every single character... certainly not Hot Pie. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

A Dance With Dragons
Martin's 5th book in the series. Nearly 300 pages in and he does not disappoint. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Just about to start GoT here. I hope I have enough time to do it before school starts again.
I just finished some good stuff by Dan Simmons and China MiƩville. _________________ Context is everything. |

I finished the first four in maybe three or four weeks. I'm about halfway through the fifth one, which I'm really enjoying. Just taking a while because I've barely been home for the past month and I can't read while in any sort of means of transportation. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

I've been reading another Antony Bourdain book -- Medium Raw. Generally, I like this guy, his show on Travel Channel, and his first book Kitchen Confidential. This book, however, I feel is kinda meh. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

I just noticed that Stephen Erikson has released the last book in The Malazan Book of the Fallen series (7th or 8th I think). The first few were tremendous fun, if a little all over the place - then I gave up because I kept losing track of what was going on since it really felt like he was writing the plot on the fly. I might get them all and take a run at them, since what he lacked in plot cohesion he certainly made up for with imagination and a good writing style. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!
