Having seen some videos of Skyrim in action... I'm excited. Really really excited. Even if they're again shrinking the number of side-factions down to just three. _________________

Yeah, they mentioned that faction would be down to three. There will be dual-weapons or spells. The spell stuff looked very cool you could cast different spells with either hand, the same spell in each or a more powerful sell if you hold down the buttons (same spell). Also, there are dragon "word" spells that look pretty cool. Dragons will be free roaming and not everything will attack you. srry typing one handed. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Sure. It's just a video game. But have some life experiences before you switch to your aloof mode -- you know grow some pubes, go off and live on your own for 10 to 20 years, pay bills, get some schooling, maybe some grad-schooling, maybe get married, have a few kids and soon you'll find yourself watching the same episode of Curious George twice in one day. That show may be followed by the Brady Bunch, Arthur or even Special Agent Oso (and all you want to do is watch Shoot 'Em Up--even though William H. Macy puts in a stellar performance as a narrator on CG--but you worry that one of your kids will develop into Nron after all the gratuitous violence) and one of your kids -- the one riding a tricycle around the kitchen like a banshee while the other one cries when attempting to be put down (horizontally) to sleep--tells you not to change the channel as you think about reaching for the remote. So yeah, it is just a video game, but you know what, I've already done much that you have yet to do or even think of. So, let me bask in my experience, wisdom, collective "learning" experiences and enjoy the simple things in life cuz I've already done the other stuff, mmmmmMMMKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAY?

Simon, I really should apologize. I mean, you used to comment about how you wouldn't reply to my threads/posts, etc., but I seem to be irresistible to you. So, if you really want your Star Wars reference, I'll play your Han Solo:
Edit: FYI, Simon, I said "one handed" not "left handed" because being American, we do things "right" and don't take as much time and effort as Canadians and others to practice fine arts and being ambidextrous. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

FWIW, I was typing one handed because I was also holding babygirl cfos in the other -- as referenced in my soliloquy. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

The College of Mages has very low standards. I come at their door a large, smelly fighter type, wearing enough metal to build a Buick FACTORY and within a week's time they make me archmage. I still know diddly squat about magic and a good part of that week was spent Wabbajacking my classmates.

I am probably going to start soon. I finally went over to the dark side and bought an Xbox for Christmas for myself. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Nice. I got my 3rd 360 (2 functioning) and have to admit I'm not pleased with Microsoft. Granted, it was free since we cashed in Marriott points, but the 4 gig Kinect isn't all I thought it'd be. First, they didn't include a hi-def cable (already had 2, so not a big issue). Included Battlefield 3 which I'm not sure I'll play. But, I can't seem to transfer saves from the old unit to the new which sucks since I'm 36 levels deep. Oh well. Surely, there has to be a way to transfer from one to the other and hopefully, a simple usb can boost the memory of the 4 gig. Must do research into this. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

^I have the 4gb Kinect too. I just use an 8gb flash drive for stuff I'd rather take with me (I used to frequently go over to other people's houses and play over there, so it's become a habit to take my memory with me instead of recovering my gamer tag everywhere I go). I think the highest you can go is 16 on an external for whatever reason.
There's a transfer cable you can definitely use between consoles/hard drives to get your saves back. It's probably $20, I'm not sure. I usually just borrow that stuff from friends.
I just recently got the Kinect, 'cause I've had the old white Arcade till one of my friends going off to the marines sold me the new console, Kinect, games and all that good stuff. But honestly, the only game I ever play anymore is Halo Reach. I was planning on buying Skyrim for myself for Christmas during the after-holiday sales. |
