I've read a few actors/tress will be returning. I also heard this will be shot as two films? Really? Two? _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Well, that was kinda expected really. I mean, Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and Andy Serkis as Gollum again. I would've boycotted the movie if they changed that.
I also believe that Martin Freeman will make a good young Bilbo.
And I guess making it two movies could work. I think the first movie would have to end when they escape from the underground elf castle or something. It's been a while since I read the book, but I think that happens around halfway there. We could have a nice closing shot of Bilbo floating on a barrel towards the sunset. _________________

Does the book really have enough material for two movies? I mean unless they make them both just an hour long I can't see them making it work without making some shit up. Smaug glowing red and morphing into his second form maybe. _________________ bitchez n hose |

I'm with Digit. I don't think there is enough material for two. Somehow, I'm sure there will also be extended versions released on dvd/blu-ray, too. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

I think it could work. First movie ends with them leaving or entering Mirkwood or something and then they can have a big version of the battle of the Five Armies. Kind of boring to start a huge war, then have Bilbo knocked unconscious and skip everything. _________________

Nah, there's only really one long movie out of the book. If you cut all of the descriptioney-type stuff out, which you'd want to assume will be handled by the cinematography, then it's a pretty straightforward run to Smaug at the end. I don't see them including all of the singing etc. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

Maybe they're planning on throwing in so much 3D bullshit that it'll take up all the screen time.
You know what's really bad? That it's not even a joke, because in all likelihood, they are. _________________ i have no time for anal love
