We, the people of the aLp forums, gather today to honour the wisdom of our glorious moderator Munan, the bright beacon of hope and enlightenment, the justified and ancient of Mu, under whose guiding and loving hand the forum has known nothing but peace and prosperity.
Exactly one year ago, moderator Munan decided to usher us, his loving and grateful people, into a new age by posting a thread a propos of nothing that undid the shackles of on-topicness and off-topicness that had chained us for so long. He became the Leader of the Revolution, by creating a topic that was radically off-topic from the start, so that all comments, no matter how off-topic they were, would always be on-topic.
After having tried for years to lead us, his ignorant children, on the narrow path of on-topicness, moderator Munan, in his infinite wisdom, realised he could only save us from our own false consciousnesses by breaking right through the old dividing lines. And of course, there were those enemies of the people who wanted to cling to the old bourgeois ways of a feudal forum society, but they have made themselves obsolete in the new order, established by moderator Munan, who let a thousand flowers bloom on the aLp-forums. Since that glorious thread, nothing is either on- of off-topic. It just is! Liberation!
Sad was the day, shortly afterwards, when moderator Munan retired from active duty as a moderator. We, the people of the aLp-forums begged him to stay, but he knew again, in his infinite wisdom, what was best for us. It is now up to us, his grateful and loving people, to finish the revolution he started, which will have to be a revolution of the mind as well as of the forums.
And even though he is gone, moderator Munan is always with us, guiding us, keeping us save from harm and inspiring us. All of us, every single member of the forums honour him and congratulate him on his glorious actions on this day, one year ago. We will strive everyday to be worthy of the bounties he bestows on us.
In memory of this great day, today moderator Munan is declared to be The Greatest Member in the History of the aLp Forums, voted to be so unanimously by all other forum members through this their one and only representative body!
The members of the forums congratulate moderator Munan with his new title.

Well as Leader of the Opposition I know I'm not part of any collective. That'd just be unoposing. This alp, the people guy though. He sounds like he's trying to get in as an Opposition to the Opposition.
That does not amuse me.

Also, am I estranged from Chainsaw since he hasn't been here in ages? What's the rule on that?

So technically, if opposing stuff makes him happy, and we're all happy and he then starts opposing us by not being happy, the opposing part would make him happy?

It has been ages - Chainsaw disappeared in November 2009.
Shortly after you eloped, not that anyone thinks it's suspicious or anything.
So I'd say you're pretty estranged, although you might have to ask Aramor for an official ruling.
