A very quick and feeble search for this showed nothing so I thought I'd start a thread.
We've just received news of a reshowing of Avatar. (I dont know how far behind we are) This new, exciting version will include 8 minutes of never before seen footage!! 8 WHOLE minutes, can you believe?!
So.. would you pay to go see this movie in 3D again?
Me? No. I never saw it in 3D and I didn't even go to see it at the movies. I don't feel that my life is in anyway incomplete because of this.
I loved the movie. I loved the prettiness and the storyline despite what many people may think but I really think he's pushing it with this.
What do you think? |

Feeble must be some gross understatement.
Try looking 8 (eight) topics below yours.
Anyways, Avatar? Pfft. Take that to Simon. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Oh my god, I must rush to the cinema and endure another 18 and a half hours of arse-numbing cliche to catch those 8 minutes. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

I saw that, Sal but you see this is not about Avatar.. it's about Avatar reloaded!
The new exciting version!!
It may be exactly the same movie with 8 extra minutes but they're calling it a different version. |

I guess I should be glad that this topic isn't called "Simon's still a queer for liking Avatar." Cause I still do. I saw it in theatres three times. In 3d. I would have actually suggested the 3d version when it first came out.
The Abyss was saved by 30 minutes of footage that had been cut. Each of the LotR films were vastly improved with extra 30 minutes each. Apparently the Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut had 45 minutes that also saved it. Eight minutes just can't cut it, methinks. _________________

I do too. I watched it again last night.
But I won't pay for watching a 3 hour movie with 8 minutes of extra stuff. That's like buying a pack of cigarettes where they stuffed a tiny little bit of extra tobacco in every cigarette. _________________

I'm not a fan of the whole 3-D thing. Not going to go see it in a theater, although, should someone go I would love to here any additional Avatarspeak.
Unobtainium.
Classic.

Whenever there is a new cut of a film, I always wonder whether or not it will end up like Bladerunner. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Awww...! Thanks, cfos! You always post the best pictures for me!
As far as "Avatar" goes, I only saw it once because my dad bought the DVD and I don't feel the need to see it again. It wasn't bad, but it did feel highly derivative. _________________ "Yeast devil! Back to the oven that baked you!" |

What can I say? I like hammers and bacon.
Speaking of things Cameron, I heard on the radio today he is bashing Piranha 3D. Apparently, it is ruing the 3D experience. One has to wonder -- if the movie is that bad, it must surely star Ice Cube. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Well, at least it's a good sequel then, since the other piranha movies were complete shite. _________________

Thing is, Avatar was filmed properly in 3d. Most of the so-called '3d' movies coming out now are merely 2d movies digitally edited to have added 3d to it. Except when it's done that way it looks like complete crap. Also 3d is too often used in order to showcase itself (things flying at your face is a typical example). In Avatar however, the 3d was there just to give the world that feeling of extra depth, literally. That was my reaction to it, anyway. _________________

I can only hope that the makers of "Step Up 3D" headed your suggestions. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Because that could be the only potential fuck up for that film. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.
