i sure didn't hear any vuvuzelas today, the noise was totally outdone by crazy Asians who went berserk each time South Korea had the ball, let alone scored.

It was a good day's football all round - great that Argentina managed to score twice as well, even though Greece had their entire team in their own goal area for most of the match.
I can't even turn the sound on on the telly any more, those damn things annoy me so much.

Japan are going to kick Paraguay out of the world cup if they keep playing like they have been. Awesome. Also, why did England have to get a goal disallowed. Now we're gonna have to listen to them whinge about that instead of admitting that they got slaughtered by a superior (and much younger) side.

True 'nuff. England wasn't playing all that well in the group stage anyway.
Wasn't there that one time where England got a goal against Germany by a similar cross-bar bounce? Except it didn't actually go in that time, but the Russian ref wanted to vengeance for Stalingrad or something like that.

Nope, it happened in '66 I think it was - same situation only, as you say, it didn't actually cross the line but the goal was given. England went through, Germany went out. Karma, baby.

Great win for Spain last night. Nice to see beautiful passing football triumph over Portugal's negativity. The Barcelona midfield contingent of Xavi and Iniesta were amazing, David Villa is a legend, and best of all, Ronaldo was complete pants and the ref was having none of his falling over, despite the fact that he was getting repeatedly fouled  .
Also, I'm moving this to the Sport section.
