For one of the 'most expensive' movies ever made, it was well worth the money. Hands down, one of the best sci-fi movies of late. And the game isn't bad either.

Watched it today. Might be one of my favorite movies ever. Honestly. The story is simple, a bit cliche, but solid. Everything else is unbelievably awesome.

P.s.- I don't even know if there's going to be a choice, but if there is, choose to watch it in 3d. It was breathtaking.

I actually heard that the whole 3d doesn't really add much.

It's possible, I suppose. Seeing as how this is my first 3d experience and that I haven't seen the 2d version yet, it's possible the 3d might not be as amazing as I think it is.

Too me, however, it seemed like the icing on a delicious cake. It added a real palpable sense of depth to the 3d character models that made them that much more believable.

My only problem with it is when the scene changes and your focusing on an area that's not meant to be the focus of the scene. They'll show two guys walking and these ferns in the foreground. If you focus on the ferns whenever they are out of focus, it hurts your eyes.

Yeah, you have a point there. Ah well, I think I'll watch both versions eventually.

Seen it. Awesome. A bit predictable, but still awesome.

Went to see it in 3D the other night. One of the most incredibly, breathtakingly beautiful, hackneyed cliched piles of shit I've ever seen. It really saddens me that after spending that much money and putting that much work into a beautiful setting they then pull off a plot that I could've written on the bog during a not particularly long shite. Round it off with terrible, one dimensional characters and you've got another James Cameron hit.

Gutted. Dunno why expected more though.

The 3D is truly amazing in places though!

I haven't seen it yet, and my current conundrum is whether to see it at my local IMAX (bigger screen, better immersion, more 'wow!' factor) or at a reald 3d theatre (better image quality, easier viewing thanks to better specs and 3d method ('pop-out' vs 'depth')).

Anyone care to suggest one or the other?

I just saw it. Some of the story elements were a bit hackneyed, but I knew that going into it. I generally found it to be a good movie.

Of course I find it amusing that you can show someone get impaled through the chest with an arrow, but you'd better not show a blue alien nipple!

Just saw it (reald 3d). I'm going to see it again tomorrow at IMAX. The plot may be simplistic and by-the-numbers but this movie isn't really about plot, it's about spectacle. And this movie is a spectacle, a fantastic one at that. And hell, it's a better story than most.

But there is one thing I'm bothered about: Of all the lifeforms on Pandora, the navi are the only quadrupeds of the whole bunch. What gives?

If I didn't know any better, I think Simon just described every Megan Fox movie. Huh. Here I though he didn't appreciate Megan.

For the record, no I don't appreciate Megan. There's nothing to appreciate.

Okay, I saw it again this morning. It's even better the second time through.

Though maybe it's just because the one we have here in Calgary sucks so bad, the IMAX experience was definitely inferior to the reald 3d one. The glasses are terrible at IMAX.
