|
|
well, let me pipe in here and give a hello to the other ALP'ers here. just introducing myself, I am Xenomoose. I came up with the name WAY back in 200(2?) when I first joined an internet forum, when I was thinking of a proper username I went "well, I like Xenomorphs, and I (at the time) was a fan of Invader Zim and it's moose references, so... xenomoose."
a quick rundown of who I am, I'm just an 18-year-old guy about to head into college. I've read ALP for years but never thought to join the forums 'til now. I've love the Alien and Predator movies since Middle School. a month before the original AVP movie came out I sat down and watched Alien, Aliens, and Predator with my family, then saw AVP with my father when it came out in theaters.
I also like Star Wars, Godzilla, MST3K (as well as Mike Nelson's new brainchild, Rifftrax), Rescue Me (the firefighter show with Denis Leary), Futurama, Watchmen (both comic and movie), Taken, and some other stuff.
I also like video games. I have a ton of PC games, yet I don't really consider myself a "PC Gamer" because I don't really care to spend the time an money to get a Gaming PC, but I can still run any game from between 2004-2007 decently, anything newer I can probably still run as long as it's not Crysis-level graphics. I have an Xbox 360, a PSP, and a Wii, though I haven't used the Wii in months.
I live in the middle of Long Island, NY, and will be going to Syracuse for College, where I will be studying Environmental Biology at SUNY ESF (which stands for Environmental Science and Forestry).
I decided to join because I love the comic and I've been needing to fill my time with sites to go to, because I don't have a job as of yet. hopefully when I finally get my driver's license I will.
well, that's just a short intro of me, covering the basics. I hope to have fun in this new community. so... yay. |

Well, I think you'll fit in perfectly.
Though the last guy I said that to ended up having his crap load of posts become a legendary example of fail, so maybe you should disregard my comment. |

kinda. they're not the greatest games in existence but they're decent. personally, I liked the Half Life series better. more compelling story. hell, I played Half Life 2 so many times I had to stop playing because I knew every nook and cranny of it. |

| Hopefully ODST's going to bring Halo back. Fortunately it's all about the story, unlike Halo 2 and 3... |

eh, I kinda enjoyed the story. again, it wasn't the best ever (Half Life 2 will always hold that place in my heart), but at least it was completely horrid.
but again, Half Life 2's story was probably the best story I ever saw in a Videogame. runner ups include Mass Effect, GTA IV, and a few others that I can't think of now. |

Agreed, i re-played the whole half life series about a month ago, just to rekindle the old flame, #2 and the episodes were played on ps3... my PC monitor was getting too small... _________________ "When I get home... I am going to do so much fucking cocaine..." |

| I don't even remember HL2. Maybe I should stop playing Call of Duty 4 and "borrow" the Orange Box from a friend. |

wolfie, there is no such thing as a 'good' website, they are all out to fuck people in some way. Just get yourself a steam account, you can purchase Half Life there. _________________ "When I get home... I am going to do so much fucking cocaine..." |

Search torrent if you must.
Or, you know, just download it off steam. _________________

Middle of Long Island, you say? How do you pronounce that airport in Queens? Sorry, local humor.
I went to college in Ithaca, back in the day. Used to drive to Syracuse once in a while. Nice mall. Also there used to be a diner about midway between the 2 towns -- The Brooklyn Diner. With a motto like, "Where the elite of the bums dine." you can't go wrong. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

ha. if that diner still exists I'll be sure to be on the lookout. I really want to go to this one grill place. I think it was called the "Dinosaur Grill" or something to that effect. might be difficult, because the college I'm going to (which neighbors syracuse University, but is it's own separate campus) has a high Vegetarian population.
and Werewolf, get a steam account and buy Half Life from there. Half Life: Source is awesome if you can find a mod that adds in the models from the High Res package Blue Shift had added. |
