Yeah.
Anyway... last movie I watched... the first 40 minutes of Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King. Then I decided to go to bed because I was drunk. _________________

i just watched the first Tranformers movie, and god was it stupid.
also, Watchmen, first time since seeing it on the big screen. still amazing after all these months. convinced the wife to see it too, and she admitted that she hadn't expected that much depth and character complexity in a comic book material. she liked Comedian and Dr. M the most.
another small victory for the geekkind. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Batman
Just saw it again after years, nostlagia fitler still creeps in but it was still a great movie. Ledger was a better Joker but Nicholson is still gold. I loved the art direction and style this film had, while the new Batman films take a more realistic approach, and the Schumacher films were just ridiculous, the Tim Burton films were easily the most traditonal; they even led to the creation of Batman: The Animates Series which is by far the best superhero cartoon ever made. _________________ Only the strongest will survive.

Just watched the first 'episode' of Predator Chronicles:

It removed the three scenes/moments I really hated, so I'm happy. _________________

Public Enemies. it was pretty boring. they really should have made a Jack Sparrow vs Batman flick instead. _________________ i have no time for anal love

The only movies I can recall that had Nick Cage that didn't blow are The Rock and Lord of War. But they were okay in spite of the actor. _________________

I agree that Lord of War was a very good movie. I have no feelings regarding The Rock, but surely think you forgot to mention Raising Arizona, a brilliant movie that still is quoted in everyday conversation. If memory serves, I also think Nicky was in Rumblefish which I thought was very good. _________________ "If wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak." |

Never heard of those last two.
But I think we can agree that, no matter how bad Nick Cage can be, his worst is still better than Ben Stiller's best.
I saw Mystery Men the other night for the first time. It could have been a decent flick, except for fucking Ben Stiller. _________________

I personally think Matchstick Men was pretty good. Nicholas Cage as a neurotic conman, come on.
And I just got back from Ice Age 3. It was awesome. _________________

Event Horizon

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
decent, certainly better than the last one, but nowhere near the level of the third one (best in the series).
it'd help if it had a little less hormones and a little more plot development. _________________ i have no time for anal love

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
The Transformers were much more believable in the first movie and the humor was unexpectedly great. In this one, though, there's two Jar Jars, Beastwars somehow got involved, the TFs were having kids, and the Fallen was using the force.
In my opinion it was an awesome movie, though some things lowered in quality. And they swore way too much, too.
Plus, Sam/Spike went to heaven. Spoiler: | But it was no ordinary heaven. It was robot space heaven... in space! |
There are a number of plot holes and inconsistencies that I noticed which all of you have probably already read in other online reviews, but like I said, the movie was still really awesome, especially when Spoiler: | Blackout dies... again. |
Maybe it's just me, but the general feel of it seemed to be more for kids as well...
I also went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and rented Yes Man. |

Would you people stop mooching around after each other and blow something the fuck up? - anonymous and very loud quote from someone in the cinema when I went to see it. He got a round of applause, so I suspect everyone who wasn't actually fourteen in the building agreed with him. _________________ Da Fro-mastah of da aLp Forums!

too true.
although, and that's something the wife pointed out to me, it is somewhat endearing how the mooching around was not at all up the 90210 road (which you would expect of a teen flick these days), but was all safe and innocent, limited to making eyes and drawing hearts. it was like taken from a different era of teen fiction, like pre-war, or even 19th century novels. silly but stylish, or stylishly silly, if you will.
but there was too much of it, definitely. _________________ i have no time for anal love
