I know they have them way out in Suffolk County somewhere, they’ve got a fairly big parade out there too. I had one at Spring Training in Bradenton, FL. but that doesn’t help you. I mixed it wit ha chocolate shake. awesome.

Here in SoCal we always have the Shamrock shakes available. One year during college I craved one near the end of March – poor timing. Franchises that had used up their supply of the flavoring just stopped offering it. We ended up on a midnight run to one of the most industrial corners of Los Angeles just to find a McD’s that still had them in stock. We called several and even went to a couple who had misinformed us that they still had them before we finally found some. I have to have at least one every year.

Here’s what I foundposted March 6, 2007.

“Yes, Upstate (Central ) NY near Syracuse- we have them- and I love’em. ”

Very outdated, but possibly still relevant. I’m not done searching yet, though!

Here’s a recipe for a ‘Copycat McDonald’s Shamrock Shake’ if you don’t have any luck finding one.

SERVES 2

2 cups vanilla ice cream or soy ice cream
1 1/4 cups 2% low-fat milk (or soymilk)
1/4 teaspoon mint extract
8 drops green food coloring

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth.
Stop blender to stir with a spoon if necessary to help blend ice cream.
Pour into 12-ounce cups and serve each with a straw.

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

I can affirm that most, if not all, Syracuse-area McDonalds have shamrock shakes on St. PAtrick’s Day. All bets are off after the actual day, however.

(If I had a job, I would send you a shamrock shake in a cooler. I would also buy a T-shirt.)

no shamrock shake… thats crazy! whats wrong with having a shake for every other holiday/parade anyway? i mean, most places will capitalise on anything. any reason to make people buy crap.

Bernieh, The last panel is *awesome*! It takes a second or two to sink in, but then it sizzles all the way.

Tell us, did you think the last panel up first and then create the comic around it, or did it just happen?

“We have the chance to mold Corinna into whatever we want.” This is so going to end poorly. Can’t wait.

This seems highly unethical! Great stuff.

At college we used to have Shamrock Shake contests on St Pats Day. We would each have one, then whoever had the greenest doody won.
