suicidegirls.com? You’re aware that there’s actually a site with that name, right? (un?fortunately, it concerns Goth chicks, not suicide bombshells)

THANKS BERNIE, YOU ARE A HERO OF COMICS!!!
BUT WILL CORRINA ESCAPE FROM THE PRISON?
ANYWAYS, KEEP IT UP DUDE! ;)
ChuckMarch 3, 2009 at 9:28 pm
Oh Lawd! I laughed myself dizzy on that last panel.
Pierre PaquetteMarch 4, 2009 at 12:11 am
Oui, I am French-speaking too (from Quebec), and not only does he like it, he gives a nice overview of the series, and it’s actually pretty darn inviting to read ALP from that review.
Now I can’t wait to see Corinna again. Abe isn’t the only one who likes “a pair of tight jeans” on “a fine piece of nerdy tail” haha! :)
mjwMarch 4, 2009 at 8:10 am
Great last panel!
KickMeMarch 4, 2009 at 8:44 am
Hi, came here like every french-speaking dude to tell you he liked it. So say we all.
timMarch 4, 2009 at 10:01 am
Bernie, thank you for the last panel. i was considering visiting Gitmo, but Corrina’s review convinced me otherwise.
And like many readers of aLp, I like to french nerdy tail in tight jeans.
Neil (AoD)March 4, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Poor Preston, still in love but denying it..
Funny last panel too, but I merely chuckled rather than LOL’d at it :)
LaurentMarch 4, 2009 at 4:03 pm
Hi there… As the other french speakers here I confirm he likes it.
Salut à la communauté francophone fan d’aLp !
blahMarch 4, 2009 at 5:51 pm

timMarch 5, 2009 at 8:22 am

As any other French aLp fan, i have to confirm that the guy who wrote the review likes the comic, i will even translate part of it (and please, for f*** sake, stop thinking that translating sites can be of any use : it sometimes takes hours for a human to translate accurately a single paragraph, what then can you expect from a machine ?).
“On pourrait croire en une simple entreprise de geek qui tourne vite à plat, il n’en est rien. L’intelligence de l’auteur est de ne pas se contenter de faire des gags sur la mythologie des deux créatures, mythologie finalement assez peu évoquées : Alien loves Predator nous parle bien plus de New York, de son flot de frustrations et d’inepties. Le décalage fait à chaque fois mouche en nous rappelant que la vie dans la Grosse Pomme est parfois pleine de non-sens et de choses incongrues.”
“One may think of Alien Loves Predator as some geek’s endeavor that rapidly runs out of interest, but it is nothing like that. The author is smart enough not to base gags upon the mythology of both creatures, which is in fact seldom addressed, but rather talks about New York City itself and the flow of frustrations and incongruities it carries. This gives the comic a twist that always hits the bull’s eye, reminding us that life in the Big Apple is full of non-sense and weirdness.”
Well, that’s a 5 minutes translation, so it is far from accurate, but it is pretty faithfull to the original opinion i believe.
And of course, i love the comic myself, more than often i will burst in laughter (that Abe guy always kills me) under the pityfull and suspicious eyes of my colleagues.
Keep it up Bernie, you really are doing a great job.
p.s. oh, and of course Corinna is hot. Probably the glasses indeed.
