after the last panel, I have no choice but to forgive you for your erratic record in years past. Off the top of my head I can’t think of a funnier image I’ve seen anywhere that didn’t involve a guy getting kicked in the goners.

Agreed: the last panel is funny stuff. Also, the alternate panel 5 is pretty funny, too.

Go back to your talent with IYSS! That’s your calling, Bernie! Come on, man. How many times are we supposed to believe the promise that you’re back? This will last another six months, maybe a year, and then you’ll be right back to being burnt out. Is that fair to anyone, yourself included? No, I won’t place any vote, at any site, for aLp or any other creation of Bernie’s. Sorry, man, but you’ve cried wolf one too many times.

Hey look another kid that expects everything for himself. quit your whining and let the man do what he wants to do. It’s not your say either way what an artist does with his inspiration, and if you expect him to listen to you just because you rag on him then you have a long way to go and a lot of growing up from here to there. Keep following your passion B man, it doesn’t matter what people think as long as you are happy.

Inspiration is not a switch, follow it wherever it may take you :D

Great aLp as always. My fave is the first panel: “Woohoo!! I TOLD you I didn’t need to vote!” …. sounds like my wife.

“Hey look another kid that expects everything for himself.”

Oh, please. Give me a break. Do you know how many webcomics out there consider aLp to be a joke and a poor representation of the entire webcomic industry? Take a look at Ryan Sohmer’s comments at Least I Could Do.com and you’ll see exactly how the truly committed and professional webcomics feel about amateurs doing them half-assed.

BTW – here’s a little quote from InkTank.com’s creator, Barry Smith, right out of his “State of Mind” tutorial for people who are considering to start-up a webcomic:

“Second, don’t forget to inform the readers. Your fans are much more likely to forgive you if you tell them honestly how you are feeling and that you might be taking a break. Hell, you might even get enough positive email that you feel all better again. Readers like consistency and don’t like unexcused absences or late work (gee, just like teachers). Plus, if you can, give them a heads up of any trouble. Don’t just keep making excuses three times a week when things are not posted or late. Communicate with them and let them know what is going on behind the scenes. They support you and your work and deserve at least that much.”

What?! An expectation from the viewer to be told the truth and not be dicked around??? Blasphemy!

/facepalm

Your still expecting. This is his work, his art. Therefore he has the right to do whatever he may please with it. Relax a bit, so there’s not a new comic, check back in a few days. Hell maybe even go out and look around at a few new ones. Are comics so important to you that if an artist falls behind or becomes disinterested you really need to be so negative?

And as to other comics, many of them are run to actually make money, hence why they have no problem putting out new episodes even if they are mindless drivel. I would much rather wait 4 weeks for a good comic than get trash every other comic from a burnt out artist filling out his obligation to pay the bills.

And as for Barry Smith, he fails, way to state the obvious and pretend to be intellectual.

Wow. Facepalm, huh? That’s, uh, well…wow. Ok.

Easy to break down Barry, since he’s had his ups and downs. However, I noticed you didn’t say anything about LICD. Interesting. Is it because his forums have used aLp as a poster child for the failures of webcomics? Hmm. Let me know when you come up with a work-around for that.

Facepalm? Seriously? Jesus…

If aLp is a joke and a poor representation of webcomics, then give me more jokes and poor representations.

See? Now that is way more poignant and relevant than a 10-year-old’s facepalm. Go figure.

guys! guy!! – stop it!! – stop feeding the little troll!
seriously, I tell you what, the day you can create one comic strip that is even medeocre is the day i will pay attention to a word my cave dweller has to say (no doubt he will try to rejoin with a “witty” comment about trolls living under bridges and not in caves) untill then I will do what i have done for years – check out this comic every few weeks and treat the panels as the presents that they are. :)

Hmmm. I don’t think he made an appearance in this episode. In fact, he hasn’t been seen since he left the Yankees. Hey, Bernie! Bring back the J-man!
