Don’t worry, man, if you get arrested you can use me as a character reference so they know damn well that you’re a dirty terrorist. I mean, uh… something you wanted hear…

Just say you’re taking pictures for a brochure in support of the Olympics in NYC. Even if you’re not, since Bloomberg wants it so badly you’ll get off with a warning (heaven forbid they’ll arrest somebody who’s doing work for something the mayor approves).
But if you do get arrested… I never heard of you (way to show support for my friends).

You can take pictures in the subway. A lot of people do it as a hobby.
If anyone ever does give you a hard time, just give them the web addie and let them see for themselves what you use the pictures for.
But seriously hun, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Theres an Alien and Preditor on the platform, and you think they’re going to notice a guy with a camera? Just how strange is NY?

You just love playing with the law don’t ya! :)
First copyright law, and now subway photography — just be careful, apparently some people have reported that the police are enforcing the ban even though it was not passed…
By the way, you too have noticed that *no one* lets you off the train first anymore! I used to occasionally find one or two people who would do so, or at least stick to a side… but lately it’s all shove in, shove out. These days I’m swinging elbows!

People should stop being so scared. If they think you are suspicious they should ask you what you’re doing

First off, great work on the comic. A buddy of mine, who currently lives in Japan, found your strip and posted a link to it on our LJ community. Since then it has gone into my weekly webcomic rounds.
As for subway photography, be careful dude. The MTA just banned taking pictures in the subway. The ban goes into effect early next year (I want to say Jan. 10th for some reason), and police officials are saying they have no control over it – the MTA made the mandate, civil liberties be damned, and the police are just stuck enforcing it.
Personally, I think every subway rider in NYC should bring cameras on the subway the day before the ban goes into effect and take pictures of EVERYTHING. It won’t stop the MTA from enacting the ban, but it’ll probably piss them off, and I’m a firm believer in the philosophy: “If you can’t beat em, join em; but if you don’t want to join them, irritate the hell out of everyone involved.”
Keep up the great work,
Ian in Queens
