I’m ashamed that I’ve turned into one of those iPod wankers… but still enjoying it except when it crashes and needs a reboot for no reason whatsoever.

I’ve heard this statement before as well. My roommate was a New Yorker for four years and he used to tell me that after a while it all becomes hum drum for you. I’ve been there on multiple occasions and I never get tired of looking up or just gazing at something that seems out of place. Its my nature; however, New Yorkers arent the only people who get accustomed to there environment. For example I’m from Orland (Florida), and every time I have a friend down from Up North (New York or some other big city of the sorts) it never fails that there jaw drops at the site of Red Necks. I see them every day and I’m used to there big trucks, trailers, cars and bricks, and dogs in slick bed liners with no tail gate. Hell, I’ve learned don’t approach a red neck cause they most likely have a gun rack loaded with all kinds of explosive goodies. And other various facets of dealing with Red Neck Kind. Not to mention one thing I don’t think you have to deal with in New York is dealing with tourists Driving. OH SWEET GOD!!! It hurts so bad I’m telling you. On a side note try to take a picture of that view. I’d love to see it.

Hey, you think that’s bad: in the San Francisco Bay Area, when the BART train emerges from its tunnel in the East Bay (providing a similarly stunning view of both the San Francisco skyline and the East Bay hills) everybody immediately whips out their cell phones and crams as much jabber as they can into the five minutes of above-ground travel.

I use the Pelham Pkwy 5 station, and see W. Farms Sq/E. Tremont so often that I could likely entertain no one at a party by imitating the announcer with perfect pitch.

Every morning when the F-train hits the sunlight for those two Brooklyn stops I have to fight the urge to look up…because looking up wouldn’t be the cool thing to do and also the way I want to “look up” consists of me also screaming “MY SKIN MY SKIN IS BURNING!!!!! SHEILD THE LIGHT! AAAAARRRRR.”

Whoa. I think had an out of body experience with a pirate at the end there.

I take that train every day. The second it comes out into the sunlight, the cell phones come out of everyone’s pockets and they start trying to cram a conversation into the time it takes the train to cross the bridge.

I’m always fairly lucky in getting cars with a lack of jabbering when emerging from the transbay tube… but man, have you seen the view of the Golden Gate from Rockridge station?! on one of those rare fogless days it’s amazing.

I look up when I’m on the bridge.

There was one time my boyfriend was in town (He’s from West Virginia) and he was all like, “Wow…look at that!” I started talkinga lil loudere and pointing out landmarks so that the fellow passengers would know I was the native.

You don’t store explosive goodies on gun racks. A gun rack holds an empty gun. A gun most likely with a trigger lock, the bolt removed, and whatnot. The actual explosive goodies are called ammunition. Ammunition is stored in boxes separate from the firearm(s). The boxes can be stored under the seat or something when you’re just moving it. Otherwise, it’s all locked up nice and tight and separate. I like hunting. (Anyone who calls me a redneck is vastly mistaken.)

I wonder why Abraham doesn’t just break out in song right there and freak out that shallow woman. (The headphone guy won’t hear, and the orange shirt guy will think it’s just NY) Of course, that girl is probably already freaked out by the fact that Preston is riding an orange blimp shaped like a starfruit dropping spoons on dogs that were also dropped by him just to the left of that scene.

Maybe I should sketch that for ya.

A gun rack… a gun rack. I don’t even own a gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do… with a gun rack?

Well, I guess that’s just peachy. No one ever said you needed a gun rack. Besides, why do you assume a gun rack must hold many firearms? A rack can hold one, two, or twenty… Well, maybe not twenty. But you obviously think it does. If you don’t own a FIREARM (Not the generic term “gun”) then you probably don’t know enough about them to remark about them. Notice I said probably.

And Abe is SO not dumb! He’s UNdumb! Iron man is kewl! If you think Abe is dumb, check out Preston in his orange starfruit shaped blimp dropping spoons on dogs he had dropped previously. Oh, and he’s yelling about how the jelly teddies are gonna getcha. Look at my previous post(s).

Gah, Bern. You think I’M being rude? Look what Ossicle did on the previous forum! I’m just defending firearms! There’s not enough people that understand them! And, I never said anything rude. Maybe a bit sarcastic. >.< Also enthusiastic about the defense of firearms… You don’t know how many people out there who think firearms are the source of all evil! Well, neither do I, but it’s a heck of a lot of people who have been brainwashed by Disney.

I think Bernie doesn’t like hunting.

Venison is tasty.

And, in that quote, I was trying to avoid people picking on me in the future, such as people going “But I have a gun, and you can’t judge me.” I was trying to avoid making people mad! It seems that I failed. I’m going to… go sit in my corner now…

I can’t really find anything rude in this post…

The timing for this comic is rather hilarious since sunday evening I saw something get their IPOD stolen on the TTC (that’s Toronto subway, yes I’m Canadian) as he looked out the window when the subway went above ground for about 2 minutes. Funny how those two anecdotes came at the same time.

On a side note I didn’t just sit there and watch someone get their stuff stolen because the pickpocket was an idiot. The man standing beside me was a cop.

Our subway system, although not as expansive or EXCITING as NYC’s, in Toronto also has some stations that go across bridges.

I’ve been travelling on the TTC for 24 years by myself (I’m 34) and for some reason, I kind of get nervous that the bridge over the DVP will collapse on the one day a month that I have to go to Scarborough and it’s the afternoon rush hour.

Not to sound like the guy with the white headphones (mine are black and wrap around my head all spaceman like) but dear lord I love iTunes. Thanks to Abe’s beautiful vocals I’ve had Iron Man stuck in my head since yesterday morning. Sadly my super music machine is currently all busted up so I was feeling I was screwed; however, today I had the bright idea of firing up iTunes and checking the shared libraries at work. Thank goodness I work with lots of Tech Dorks cause low and behold I found it and am currently rocking out to it as I type this note. I love you iTunes. And I love you too Abe…in a non dirty man way.

Well, at least you have a cool tune stuck in your head. At one point recently i had the “I Dream of Jeannie” Theme song stuck in my head. It isn’t anymore (Smoke on the Water is now, with an Iron Maiden tune here or there), but it was an evil experience that I pray doesn’t happen again. Oh Yeah, and everyone beware of Pet Cemetaries. Those things are bad man.

First of all, thanks for backing me up bern. Second, Xeno, that was a quote from a movie…i’ll give ya one guess what it was (here’s a clue: party on wayne…yeah i even wrote that on the previous post). Lighten up a little, this is a web site for a “comic strip”, therefore it involves “comedy”, so basically dont take things seriously. Just in case you dont know by now the movie was Wayne’s World.

I hate those stupid white earbuds. They don’t fit in my tiny ear canals. I always switch for my own decent headphones. Those clip-on ones by Sony are great. Finally, a set of earphones that fit. It’s so hard having a tiny head.

The problem – and it nails a lot of people – is that the earbuds aren’t supposed to be internal, so they hurt if you try. They’re open-air ‘phones – tiny, but still open. These are the best thing that ever happened to my iPod – cheap, no pain, and a big improvement in sound.

EDIT: Fixed messed-up link.
