Whoa, wonderful strip. I simply love those devils (although, grammatically speaking, the cute German one should be saying “Starren Sie auf ihre Brüste!”). The combination of Theo and “Your Ma” jokes could provide for endless hours of hilarity…

Excellent. If Theo or the chick becomes a roommate, it would totally rule. Not “comparable to Jesus, who would be the best roommate ever” rule but still satisfactorily so.

1. Too much funny…in too small a space…guts bursting…

2. Theo looks awfully suave falling out an apartment window.

3. “Extra hands”? Abort conversation!

4. Abe has two devils and a Nazi? All I have is the spirit of a dead circus geek telling me what to do.

5. Corinna’s back!! And she’s even dirtier than Abe. Rockin’!

Hi,

“Starren Sie auf ihre Brüste!” is grammatically correct – however, these little devils sitting on shoulders would never say “Sie”, it’s too formal.

“Starr auf ihre Brüste!” would be the most convincing sentence.

Greetings,

Yulia

Ja! Dass ist sehr wahr!!! Danke schön, Yulia, dass du dich eingeschreibt hatte so dass du uns der schöne Deutsche sprache ausleggen können werden sollen mussen.

(don’t get Dutch people started on speaking German. We love doing it and we love doing it grammatically incorrect. Basically, what we do is we speak Dutch with a strong German accent and add all the german verbs we can think of at the end of the sentence)

Absolutely brilliant comic. Made me happy because of three things

- the Abe’s friend doing his mom storyline is still going strong
- Corinna is back (or is that her twin sister?)
- It contains a pun on my favourite stylistic devise in comix, the angel/devil on shoulder thingy.

The best thing is that Abe finds the ‘Your Mum sees where I come from’ joke funny even after Theo’s said it about HIS Mum! Oh Abe, will you ever learn?? I hope not…

Love it – thanks Bernie!

Quite true. However, as is popularly known, a sentence isn’t proper German unless it contains at least one instance of “Sie” or “Herr Hitler”. Your proposal would therefore cause (understandable) confusion on the part of non-native speakers, so this might not be the way to go.
In any case, from now on I’ll only be able to think of the little devil Abe as “Grammar Nazi”. Can’t help it, I’ve only slept <5 hours.

Great. Just great.

And btw “Starr ihre Titten an” would be a better way of saying it. Am I the only one from Germany here? And…Corinna never met Abe?

The bit about Abe’s Mom doing something with her extra set of hands was the frosting on the cake. Can’t wait to see if Corrina(?) will be the new roommate. :)

Yes, that cap looks definitely Russian… Bernie, next time ask the German fans how to do a *real* Nazi..

And thanks for letting us know that Abes head “looks like a giant penis that came out of the ass of a gay warthog”. This reminds me of ….my head…

Hey, I’m from Germany, too. Originally from NRW, but at the moment I live in Saarbrücken (where I study CS).
I hear that Ulm has a nice CS department as well, I don’t know whether you’d be able to confirm that?

“Starr auf ihre Titten” is better, not that clumsy.

I tried to keep as close to the original sentence as possible, therefore I did not chose this (definitely more crude) translation.

(And I always thought my way of speaking and writing english would instantly prove me to be german.)

I refuse to speak German, my hometown borders to Germany so I visted the country on regular basis, but you’ll never catch me on speaking German… I just talk in Dutch and if they don’t like it they can go steal a bike or something. Speaking Dutch to Germans does produce funny situations because most Germans assume all Dutch are able and willing to speak German, so a lot of ‘em do get quite pissed thinking I don’t understand them and start making comments to each other about me.

@relativnett

Münster is quite nice as well. There was (is?) this pizzeria with over a hundred different kinds of pizza. Wouldn’t have tasted most of it, though…
And I assume there they know what croques are.

Next to the above mentioned castle, we also have a ‘Big Barrel’. Now it is easy…

Landgraaf, Zuid-Limburg, home of Pinkpop festival and SnowWorld ski resort. Next to Heerlen and Kerkrade. It’s like 5 minutes on my bike and I’m in Ubach-Palenberg, Germany. Aachen is pretty close too.

I fail to see how that’s a good thing :P ( Just kidding my continental chums ). Of course the problem with cycling in Holland is that there aren’t any hills to roll down. But hey, you don’t have any to pedal up either. Swings and roundabouts…
