Awesome comic again… Abe really fell with his head on the floor when he bursted out of someone’s chest, didn’t he?

Hello, long time reader, first time poster. I gotta say #158 was the funniest one I’ve read yet. Loved the Alan Moore Superman reference in panel five, and the last panel cracked me up in places I didn’t know could crack. :P

Keep up the good work, and Happy Holidays!

Gold, frankincense, and myrrh. I think myrrh was once used as an embalming agent.

big ben
December 19, 2005 at 2:19 pm

Yup!
Myrrh is a spice famous for it’s good smelling (that’s in the nose of the beholder of course :D ) and very expensive. It was used for balms and medicine in the antique. Some people – the jews, for example – used it for embalming the dead. That’s just about ordor, however. It won’t mummiefy the body.

Great strip, Bernie, best wishes for the family.
Frohe Weihnachten!

Bernie

Just a heads up. You might want to make sure there are a couple gifts under the tree from the twins to their Mom as well as ones from them to you. Your wife will be very grateful that you helped the babies out by shopping for them.

Best Wishes and thanks for all the great laughs this year.

PS. A small diamond or two could go a long ways!

And in Portuguese, Feliz Natal!

I’m so glad to know I wasn’t the only one who used to think that Frankincense was Frankenstein’s incense. “Exotic aroma gooooood.” And fire bad. Graaah.

Hi!

A&P don’t seem to be quite shure about the origin of Santa Claus. Anyone knows “Snotties Grale”* by Tom Holt? He tells the truth:
Claus was originally the forth wise man. He forgot to bring a present and so he just took his spare socks to give them to the newborn Christ. For this fauxpas Mary put a curse on him to eternally walk the earth and distribute unwanted presents in socks all over the world on Dec. 24.

*Sorry, don’t know if this is actually the original english title. I only have the german translation.

Oh, my prayer has been answered: an aLp with Jesus in it again.

That was all I wanted for christmas (and probably, all I get as well. Except for a book from my mum, since she always gives me a book with Christmas)
