Oh, and I’ll tell my Muslim friends and family you got their back.

Also, I’ll tell my imam I’ll start visiting the mosque again if and only if he allows me to wear a New York Yankees kuploh*!

I thought WWJD should for ‘Walk With Jesus Dude’ (Dude being one of those words used by Happy-clappy types to appeal to the youth), though thinking about it I might have misheard (The person who told me wasn’t the worlds greatest linguist, and my hearing is akin to a deaf axolotl….
Still, ‘In the Synagizzle’. Brilliant!
As for circumcision, I heard a converted Jew (ie: Not one who was born into a Jewish family), didn’t neccesarily have to be circumcised (Several moons have passed since GCSE R.E., however…), which would suit the newly in-the-synagizzle, apparently nadless Abe.

Hehehe, I think we have a winner indeed.

That’s about the wittiest comment I heard in this entire satanic affair surrounding those silly Danish cartoons (which happened to not offend me or any Muslim I know personally).

Also, I just realize it’s a very good thing Bernie never listens to any advise his readers give him on what to do with his comic, for two reasons:

1) The quality of his comics would be a lot worse (see the Elm Street advise of a few days ago)

2) There might be a $1 Million bounty on his head now instead of some Danish cartoonist, if he’d listened to my suggestion of a few months ago to include Muhammed in the comic.

since jesus was jewish i think the wwjd kipa (it’s kipa, not kupol or whatever) makes complete sense! if you want to know what he’d do – ask a jew! you should sell those kipas, they’re the synagizzle!

as for the jews for jesus nonsense, that started as an attempt to convert jews, which worked, but now some christians are in it too. so then, some rabbis started a group to bring the jews back into the fold and called it ‘jews for judaism’ and now there’s a pretty big group of ‘messianic jews’ who truly are christians who’ve figured out that christians today don’t live as jesus lived (bc he was actually jewish) and started celebrating shabbat on its rightful day, saturday, and so forth. there are quite a few of them here in israel and the ones i’ve met are very nice and didn’t try that jesus talk with me – though here they wouldn’t bc attempts to proselytize in israel are punishable by jail time. hehehe. not complete freedom of speech, granted.

bernie, that you were aware of the israeli cartoon contest and responded to it and to the danish cartoon scandal like this is awesome. your jdate comic is awesome. i’ve been reading you for a while, bc of my friend other michael, who is very talented and i bet you would love him, but this comic made me post. kol ha-kavod, you ROCK! you rock in HEBREW, achi.

That is very true, spasticfreakshow.

But also, if I remember correctly, there is a very small group of Jews who do recognize Jesus as the Messias but reject Christianity. I have a short article on that somewhere, but it’s in my other house and probably under a pile of many other things, so an update on that will have to wait.

Check out the Jewlicious story on JDate and porn. JDate used an 18 year old Hungarian porn model named Kari Gold in online ads promoting the dating service. Needless to say, Kari is neither Jewish nor a member of JDate – they just want you to think she is. Google her – it’s understandable.

Also, see this article in Jewlicious for a hilarious story involving the founder of JDate, and some hardd core porn that found itself on a Scholastic videotape for kids – said videotape provided by a video company owwned by the founder:

Quote:
Also listed in Matchnet’s profile of Shapira is his experience as co-founder, director and officer of Matrix Video Duplication Corporation, a publicly listed company on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Matrix , founded by Shapira in California, was involved in some pretty funny stuff. For instance in 1992 Matrix sold some video tapes that ended up being used by Scholastic Inc. These tapes contained recordings of a children’s television special called “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and was offered for sale to schools, churches etc. The problem was that these were recycled tapes returned to Matrix by Cinderella Distributors Inc., a distributor of porn flicks. Thus when the little kiddies finished watching “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” they got a little unanticipated bonus footage!

Fun-o-ramma!

Great cartoon btw.

So, does this strip have anything to do with the “abomination of desolation” advertisement on the front page? One click and you can obtain five pamphlets on the destruction of Jerusalem and prove that G*d exists.

Got to love that contextual advertising….allthough it is interesting that when the big JC was in the comic all the time you didn’t get the Southern Baptists advertising on your page! Go figure! :D

Munan
February 22, 2006 at 9:45 am

Just a quick note: Has anyone else noticed allusions to possible storylines a lot recently?
1) Abe setting God up with Sharon Stone.
2) Preston forgiving it and hitting it.
3) Bill Clinton. (There must be a reason for that tag!)

Are these being addressed shortly? The tension is killing me… (Maybe address them ALL in one really long comic… imagine… aLp the movie!

Well, if I understand this correctly (big if there) the high number of references to Judaism in the comic/on the page is picked up by the advertising bot, which then shows advertisments specificaly tailored to those with an interest in Judaism.

I found it funny that with all the constant references to Jesus in the strip, I have never seen any holy roller ads though! :D

Of course, I may well be talking out of my ass here. What the fuck do I know?

There was a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central like 5 years ago or something called The Upright Citizens Brigade. It was hilarious. There was a sketch where this devout religious person had a dream where God told him it was OK to sin as long as he did it through a hole in a sheet.

 Ok, I was just googling “hole in the sheet” to find a pic from the show or something, but realized that the sketch was based off of a Jewish urban legend about sex with a hole in the sheet. Which I guess is what the joke in the last panel of the comic was derived from. So…whoops. My bad. :P Atleast I learned something new.

Oh my God. Bernie you are the best. I nearly peed myself with this comic. I’ve read every single one over and over again and I recall laughing so hard I almost puked. Especially the ones about that evil 4 train. I have felt Pres and Abe’s pain about a week ago when my train decided to stop half way to my stop and I had to take a shuttle bus the rest of the way to the bronx in 20 degree weather dragging a huge suitcase to my fathers house. Anywho! I showed this to one of my Jewish friends and now he’s actually going to get a Yarmulke with the Yankees symbol on it.

God bless your parents for making you, Bernie.
