To be honest, I do not like today’s comic very much. Neither do I like the whole Corinna/Clinton storyline. And with the fifth strip about it in a row, it gets boring. I think more focus on Pres instead of trying to fit in as many celebrity jokes would not hurt. I usually love Alien vs. Predator, you are doing a great job – but this storyline doesn’t do it for me.

I think the entire reason Bernie has the story line is because it gives a chance for Preston to find his feelings for Corinna…even if they are just out of doing what is right.

I find it awesome, because this IS putting Preston in the spotlight. Preston and Corinna are like dual characters, in a sense. When they are together, funny shit happens…much like how when Preston and Abe are together.

I find this story line great. Not only because of the Clinton bashing, but also because it shows a Predator as being a hero in his own little way.

I feel like doing a spin off comic. Predator Loves Prey. Where could one go wrong with that?!

OK, that is true.

I think I am annoyed because Clinton is too much reality in this comic. That’s probably why I did not find Jesus or Corinna (being just “somebody”) unfitting. Also, there are more than enough comics about politics and real life. I need some place on the web where I can escape this (because I am an obsessive reader of all news).
Yes, Preston gets his share of the story. But I think somehow the big presence of “reality” in the form of the Clintons is too much shadow disturbing his spotlight. One time, one strip – fine, may be very funny. But not that often.

Well, there’s your first problem.

This comic is a way for Bernie to express his own views on things, but from a view of a resident of NYC. As you said, most of Bernie’s comics have been unpolitical.

As as I said before though, it’s his comic, and it’s allowing him to express his feelings on things. Kinda like a visual blog, if I am say such a term.

If you are referring to the fact that Bernie used cut outs of the Clinton’s faces from real-life photos, then you are really nitpicking in a negative way. This is Bernie’s style. I think it actually makes the comic even funnier since he uses photo cutouts, because you can actually see the character’s facial expressions. Whereas, with the Predator, Alien and Human dolls, you kinda have to imagine the looks on their faces when they say things. Not saying that’s bad…it just makes the comic more interesting to read.

That, and it affirms the great knowing that there is no doll in existence that looks like Hillary or Bill Clinton. Thank the lord, if he exists.

Again, it’s Bernie’s style of his comics, and that’s why people love ALP, myself included.

EDIT: Or it could be the fact that Bernie’s other style is playing with Surrealism.

It’s a Predator and an Alien living in NYC, and no one seems to notice. That can be said for Bill Clinton and his bitcho wife Hillary, who seem to be easy going enough to hail taxis and take normal people out to dinner. It’s that sense of how it all fits, but it doesn’t fit in the grand scheme of things. That’s what makes this comic great!

I don’t really care for Alien vs. Predator.
I much prefer Alien loves Predator. Altogether funnier and with much more believable acting.

“It’s cloakin’ time”?

Was that intended to bring memories up of the Power Rangers’ morphin’ time?

Funny comic, nonetheless. Awwwww… he still has feelings for her!

For some reason the “It’s cloakin time” time phrase reminds of MC Hammer “It’s Hammer time”

I actually like the Clintons, but find this a superb series of comics. It escapes being too “political” by just being absurd. I mean, if it would become really political it wouldn’t fit, but like this it really fits.

You know, the story-lines are very realistic in some ways (they represent reality as we know it – dating, not knowing how to express feelings for a girl, being roommates, you know the lot), but then twist it and make it strange by using Alien & pred, Jesus, the Clintons etc. to play them out.

One could say that in our times, surrealism is a far better method to depict reality (well, reality as we experience it) than realism.

And that’s my five cents. Take it or leave it.

I’m not going to start a political war in Bernie’s forum, but the reason I hate Clinton is because of moral values, as well as political agenda…and what is expected of our president in the word of decency.

But to each his own. :P

Well, talking from my Dutch perspective* Clinton and Bush sr. were the only sane presidents in the past 25 years. And Bush sr. only looked sane because he came after Ronald Reagan. Hell, even Krusty the Clown would’ve been able to do so.

Of course, being Dutch I have no right to speak on this matter. More so, because I’m biased about the nineties – the only sane decade in the entire 20th and 21st century.
