I think this is all rather dependent of one what is considered to be the source of gravity. I guess if the pit were really bottomless, the matter around the pit would have to go on for ever. One is essentially being attracted by an infinite amount of mass. Unless the density is distributed in such a way as to make it asymptotically approach zero as one approaches infinite distance into the hole, one might experience infinite acceleration. Hm, maybe if it were just an infinitely long tube…

nah. you’d reach your terminal velocity luch sooner, and at a much lower speed than a space craft. you woiuld end up going at about 50-70mph (depenging on your weight and mass.)
also, you would die of thirst, not starvation.

This is one of the funniest comics online. You’re consistent too and the fact that you’re actually getting better as you post more often…well that just puts it into the upper crust.
