I thought it had something to do with drinking from the tap being an odious personal habit (Get your GURPS speak out), especially when you’re in a restaurant anyway.

As for his head being upside down in one of the panels, I guess it’s a ‘looking at it curiously from different angles’ kind of shot. Either that or Bernie felt he couldn’t sell us short by repeating the same frame twice (Grins unconvincingly).

And for everyone who can’t figure it out: Abe is not going to wash his hands because it was just pee and he did not take a dump. So, he drinks the water instead. That’s all.

Besides, considering that you, whom I assume to be a pretty common member of the general public, would be able to get your hands on such a machine, everyone would go and get gold, too.

The value of gold would drop like Titanic with lead weights. You might as well give him a bowl of shit.

Well it has to be significant in some way, or Bernie wouldn’t have devoted a panel to it. What does it mean??

The ending was one of those moments where you’re laughing your head off even though you have no idea what you just read. What’s so funny? It’s an air freshener calling for help from other air fresheners! Abe is too smelly! Baahaahaa! Another great one, Bernie :D
