Great strip! All of you that are sending URL’s and defining how we see vocabulary–can’t you just enjoy the comic strip and Bernie’s added comments? I like the idea much better that they just don’t give a damn. Of course they know how to spell and have spell check! Have ya see the Chinese language?!?They jsut don’t give a damn! Thanks Bernie! Keep it up!

Apparantly this event is not isolated to Chinese restaurants.

I went to a Japanese restaurant (owned and staffed by Chinese) that had the same "lesson" on the back of the wrappers. The "engrish" was much better, probably descended from CS-G (12).

What surprises me the most, however, is that no-one has attempted to lift a medium-sized pot of boiling oil and subsequently sued the restaurant and/or chopstick manufacturer. Oh well, give it time.

I wish I could make this up:

Apparently, this year a patent for a chopstick manipulator was granted.

I guess if you want to eat using chopsticks and can’t use your hand, you’ll need this invention.

We as a culture have learned also to just “overlook” misspellings. You get the basic jist. There’s a study on the internet about how if all the correct consonants & vowels are there, you can read it.
